‘CELTIC’S PROBLEM,’ REDKNAPP

VETERAN ex-boss Harry Redknapp reckons Celtic are being punished in Europe because of the lack of domestic competition.

The former Spurs, Portsmouth, Southampton and West Ham manager believes the Hoops are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but are failing at a higher level.

Redknapp, 68, wasn’t impressed by Ronny Deila’s team in their most recent Europa League embarrassment against Molde.

He said: “The players just haven’t been good enough against an average Norwegian team who aren’t even near the top of their national league.

“Celtic are one of the big clubs in world football.

“Anywhere you go in the world, you’ve got Celtic fans. It’s a massive club.

“But they’ve got to do better than they did against Molde. They can’t get beaten twice by a second-rate Norwegian team.

“Of course, they are playing in a league that is a one-horse race.

“You have to look at their fixtures and how they prepare for Europe. They’ve now got Ross County this weekend.

“They just don’t get tested. It’s a case of win, win, win. It must affect them when they step up a level.”
