There are games when you are full of trepidation but this isn’t one of them. We face tonight’s foe with the proverbial puncher’s chance. Barcelona come to a venue where their losing rate is well above average. They know we’ve given them a bloody nose here on more than one occasion, and that we’ve progressed enormously since our visit to Camp Nou in September.
Brendan and the players will be looking forward to kick-off. This is what being a football player is all about. Facing off against the greatest players in the world on the top stage.
We have a team full of players on form and with something to prove. They have conquered all before them domestically, so professionally, need to hit a higher target.
You will possibly wonder how long there is to go, look up to find we’re only 90 seconds into the game. The competitive stress will be that acute, but tonight is part of the Great Celtic story. The game will develop the team and the club. Players will be wiser and better because of it, our transformation in a few short months into a Champions League team will mature.
Drink in every ounce of it.

Could this be the first ever podium?
Oh yes it can.
Top team after I read the article.
COYBIG!!!!!!
Couldn’t agree more Paul. We definitely have a chance. Our record against Barca at home is decent over the last 12 years.

I notice Brendan Rodgers said that Griffiths was involved in the warm-up yesterday and he will be involved and monitored today.
Methinks that if a German Team are losing at home and we are still in the game late on then we may see the Griff risked if needed. A win will see Man City qualify tonight along with Barca with a game to go. Need to keep believing!

I’ll watch it on Friday morning. I’ve got a pretty-much heaving drinks cabinet at the moment,so celebrate or drown my sorrows,I’ve got the answer.
Actually,it’s not as full as it once was,for some reason. The problems of a dipsomaniac, you just don’t understand…

Nice to see you’ve got yourself a big ‘cat. Did you buy it now because you got a great deal at this time of year, or because your blast freezer has broken down and it was cheaper to buy a new bike to get your chills?
Is Accrington Stanley, maybe a distant relation to Darlington Nagbe?.You know,it can be a small world.

I changed the bikes a few months ago; just took longer to change the moniker. I’ve been out on the 821 a couple of times over the last 2 weeks (the 1200S is far too unruly for slippy roads!) and it is definitely getting towards the “too cold to ride” stage.
Saturday is due to be dry but with a top temperature of 4 degrees it will be a short ride if I get the bike out then!

After mentioning Saturdays temperature to TBB, I’ve just had a quick check for tonight.
Forecast for -2 at kick-off and -3 by the end of the game! It’s gonnae be a cauld wan! Hopefully they wee South Americans willnae fancy it oan a cauld, slippy night at Celtic Park where it will be parky!

I just hope we don’t concede an early goal, the amount of times we have lost a goal in Europe in the first 15 minutes is ridiculous. Messi is 29 now, might be last chance to see him live, canny wait…..!!
Frezzing? Freezing lol
Well I for one am excited!
Meanwhile here are a couple of new pieces.
One about Mike Ashley, the Daily Record and a MASSIVE coincidence:

Having got well and truly gubbed by Barca a few weeks ago only Celtic supporters could think we could get a result tonight – briiiilllliiiiiaaaaannnnntttt

Can´t see anything but a tanking for us tonight.
The last time we beat Barcelona Fraser Forster had the game of his life and skoosh wisnae playing.
This time round we have Craig Gordon and Skoosh playing.
Barcelona also just got a tanking against Man City and only drew at the weekend. Last time that happened they skelped 7 past us.
Hope I am wrong

Just watched Brendan Rodgers Press Conference from yesterday. First thoughts are that so many hacks are just plain dumb when you listen to some of the questions! A degree in stupidity seems to be pretty much a pre-requisite!
However, oor Brendan dealt with them superbly. All questions answered with eloquence, even the Spanish version of Keich Jackshun asking about the Loch Ness monster!
If our players handle the game in the same thoughtful, professional manner as he did the PC, we will get a result!

Aw Naw, it’s Celtic Park on a bitterly cold Champions League night. When I left work on the day of the Man City game a couple of sticky’s smirked and asked what the outcome would be.
I said it could be 3 or 4 to them, 3 or 4 to us or anything in between. I was right then and I think the same tonight.
Celtic Park truly is magical on nights like this and I will not be surprised at any result tonight. The only one I will rule out is 0-0. Both teams to score – but what the score will be, nae idea!
