Celtic’s puncher’s chance

174

There are games when you are full of trepidation but this isn’t one of them. We face tonight’s foe with the proverbial puncher’s chance. Barcelona come to a venue where their losing rate is well above average. They know we’ve given them a bloody nose here on more than one occasion, and that we’ve progressed enormously since our visit to Camp Nou in September.

Brendan and the players will be looking forward to kick-off. This is what being a football player is all about. Facing off against the greatest players in the world on the top stage.

We have a team full of players on form and with something to prove. They have conquered all before them domestically, so professionally, need to hit a higher target.

You will possibly wonder how long there is to go, look up to find we’re only 90 seconds into the game. The competitive stress will be that acute, but tonight is part of the Great Celtic story. The game will develop the team and the club.  Players will be wiser and better because of it, our transformation in a few short months into a Champions League team will mature.

Drink in every ounce of it.

    “This is all about MSM trying to limit growth in support based media.”

    Interesting statement, are the MSM putting pressure on Celtic to NOT allow you to have a prescence?

    Not to sure of the formation, but looks like we are choking the centre of midfield and forcing them wide.

    ==================

    Lots of pressure on Sinclair, Dembele and Rogic to hold the ball up when we get it and allow the rest of the team to move up and support them.

    I think it might be a 4321 kinda shape, but keeping the ball is paramount, losing it through getting harassed is acceptable, better teams that us lose it all the time against them, but giving it to them unchallenged gets on my bits.

    Hello mate funnily enough I was over in the retail park on sat morning and I was in m&s to get the kids their pizzas and chicken wings so every possibility you did walk past me. If you passed someone in a Leinster rugby jersey it was moi. I stay in kirky but have been in Quinn’s on two occasions before never been in the crow….yet.

    Don’t think I have ever shouted at the screen as much as I did tonight………first when I seen mcgregor starting, I like the bhoy but decision making is hit and miss and his big chance tonight was a hit and a miss. He just doesn’t do enough in the bigger games against the better teams. Hope SS is not out for long reporting a hamstring injury when it looked like an ankle knock. Oh well upwards and onwards.and still proud to have the green and white upon my chest.
