CELTIC will receive a paltry £250,000 fee for Daniel Cummings as the teenage striker prepares to join West Ham.
The prospect, rated highly by Brendan Rodgers, is quitting the Hoops with the champions receiving a pittance in a development fee after his time at the club’s academy.
Cummings made a high-profile debut for the Parkhead side when he replaced Adam Idah in the 4-2 Champions League loss against Aston Villa in the Midlands in February.
The link with the Upton Park outfit was revealed shortly afterwards and the 19-year-old frontman came off Rodgers’ radar for the remainder of the season.
CAP THAT…former Celtic prospect Ben Doak in action for Scotland in the 1-0 win over Croatia at Hampden in November 2024.
Cummings scored 23 goals in 28 Lowland League matches and topped that up with an impressive six strikes in seven UEFA Youth League outings.
The fee for the attacker is even less than the £600,000 the Hoops received from Liverpool for 16-year-old winger Ben Doak when he moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2022.
The 16-year-old winger, who made two substitute appearances for the club, had not signed a professional contract at Parkhead before being lured across the border.
Celtic also lost top prospects Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly last summer when they joined Championship clubs Watford and Millwall respectively.
