Cenkos involvement worth attention

585

There is a realisation that the information issued by Craig Whyte last week is only the beginning of what promises to be weeks of salacious details.  Ownership of Ibrox, Murray Park and other assets purchased by Sevco 5088, a company which Charles Green signed a Companies House form for on 27 December 2012, but which Craig Whyte claims to be a significant interest holder in, is in doubt.

This matter could take weeks to play out and months, or longer, to settle.  The evidence provided thus far is interesting but courts are notoriously more concerned by paperwork than recorded conversations.  If Craig Whyte has paperwork to back his claims he will feel by far the more comfortable of the two parties.

Of more immediate concern will be what Cenkos Securities knew.  Cenkos were the Nominated Advisors for Rangers International’s recent Initial Public Offering and Newco’s directors would have been required to inform them of any claim over assets, no matter how spurious or disputed.

City Regulators move quicker than the courts and will want early information on when Whyte’s claims were made, what was revealed to Cenkos and how the board minute-d these matters.  Keep your eye on this one.

Having used David Longmuir to get at SFL clubs in an attempt to sink league reconstruction plans Charles Green, who has made no secret of his opposition to them, turned to St Mirren chairman Stuart Gilmour.  Gilmour, who was incandescent with outrage last year when SFL clubs refused to make a space in their top flight for Newco, plans to acquiesce.

He should reconsider before the St Mirren board meet to discuss this on Wednesday.

Jabba does himself proud! Try as he might, he doesn’t seem to understand that at this point the most sensible thing to do is to say nothing and keep saying it. As he wasn’t formally linked to oldco/sevco 5088/sevco/newco at the point in time he refers to, his use of ‘we’ can only be on behalf of those who were involved in this rather clumsy attempt to dupe CW. The statement is almost identical to the statement issued by the great man of letters when it was revealed that he gave copy approval to CW, in effect he claimed that he sacrificed journalistic integrity in order to dupe CW!

Sir David Murray (remember him?) claimed that, although he would only sell to the ‘right person’, he had been duped by CW!!!

“We had been led to believe that a CVA was the likely outcome” by whom? Surely not the duper, duped by Jabba, duped by Chuckles into paying £137 500 into Ahmad’s mammy’s bank account?

Incidentally, if the £137 500 was not given back to CW, where is it? Is it ‘resting’ in mammy’s account? Is it sitting somewhere in cash? Is it ‘resting’ in some other non- interest bearing account?

Question. If Craigy’ agent provocateur’ Whyte did indeed lend money to facilitate Chuckles’ purchase of the corpse of RFC does this then mean that Sevco’s SFA membership should be revoked as Green would have lied to the SFA?

I have said all along that we should be wary of seeing CW as some sort of poster bhoy re his involvement in this sevco farce .

Remember he was the man brought in to do a job at the start of all this .

IMO it’s been a scam from start to finish and it started long before CW was introduced to do his part and the finish has not arrived yet .

I think the only problem their plan has encountered was not being put into the SPL and that was achieved by the football fans the rest IMO are all involved in ensuring this scam succeeded .

Follow the money and the truth will out .

  15. CG, AMcC and assorted orange slime are beyond contempt….every day they drool some foul excrement in order that their stench is still noticeable. It’s the last way they have of gaining attention…….what’s that smell? Oh aye, it’s that lot.

I would imagine their final act of attention seeking will to have a mammoth stage play in one of Glasgow’s larger courts and we may even witness a metaphorical act of self immolation as one of the guilty parties cracks, foully, under the strain.

They barely register on my weird and wonderful consciousness any more. When I saw their listing on the telly progs yesterday my brain immediately wondered why QPR were playing in Glasgow…..was it some testimonial or other? Some charity match?

Then the gears clanked and I realised it was that lot somehow getting themselves on the box again.

I look forward to the hilarity of the closed season and the comedy show that’s about to kick off.

Reconstruction……that’ll be a hoot as the loyal broguemind hive try to bump up their criminal pals at least one division to get them closer to being able to sign their first Panzer tank and dream their iron dreams of Wagner belting out hip-hop style around The Asbestosdome.

What chicanery will they employ to sign Europe’s finest via some obscure clause.

And what will they do as CG cleans out the cash registers and vamoooses, the game being afoot.

(Yes, I know this is a Celtic blog, but we are behaving honourably as always. We will continue to do the right thing and act with dignity.)

So, you must forgive me when I find the antics of the bare-legged, bare-breasted brigade too much to ignore and the greatests objects of ridicule to have impinged upon my consciousness.

The only downside is their love of intimidation and violence and I only hope the pitchforks are at the ready when the rats enter their terminal frenzy when it finally dawns on them that all is truly lost.

Even they know it’s all over. But denial is a powerful force, however futile.

Charles Green urged to explain role of former Craig Whyte associate at Rangers

    7 Apr 2013 07:39

JIM PARK has reportedly been working as a consultant at the club but it has been claimed no-one at the club knew of his links to former owner Whyte.

Jim Park, in light jacket, with club directors at the Brechin-Rangers game in August

FED-UP Rangers fans yesterday called on owner Charles Green to explain the role of a Craig Whyte associate at Ibrox.

The saga took a twist last week when Whyte, 41, claimed he used Green as a frontman to buy the club after he caused them to go bust.

And the Ibrox hate figure has threatened to sue the Yorkshire businessman for allegedly reneging on the secret deal.

Green, 59, denied the claim, although has admitted he told Whyte what he wanted to hear in order to seize control.

But the scandal has led fans to query the involvement of twice-bankrupt businessman Jim Park, a lifelong pal of Whyte’s dad Tom.

The Sunday Mail revealed in August how Whyte’s associate joined Green in the directors’ box for a match against Brechin City.

Park has held 74 directorships with firms in Scotland, including debt recovery and call centres – nearly all of which have been wound up.

At the time, the club admitted that the 58-year-old was a “consultant” helping to introduce financial backers to Green.

Club sources also said that they had no knowledge of his connection to Whyte.

Fans are now questioning that and Rangers Supporters’ Association secretary John Macmillan said yesterday of the link: “It’s rather mystifying.

“It’s one hell of a job trying to work out what is going in the background – and it would be helpful if Charles Green could come out and explain what the position is here.”

Green painted himself as the saviour of Rangers after Whyte’s disastrous tenure saw the club plunged into administration.

But the chief executive now faces a battle to regain the trust of fans after it was revealed he was working with Whyte at the start of his bid to buy Rangers.

Park, of Dumbarton, often travels on business to Monaco, where Whyte has a luxury home.

At the time, a source told us: “Park has been working as a consultant in the few months since the new regime took over.

“He’s been talking to the top people and introducing potential investors. The Whyte connection was not known to us until today. It is now.”

Park told us: “I haven’t got a role yet with Rangers but I have met with the team who own the club.”

Macmillan added: “No one wants to see Craig anywhere near Ibrox or getting any shares back – but what is happening does raise questions.

“The one thing absolutely clear is that someone is lying.

“If Green has to go to court to prove it, so be it – but that has to be the last resort.”

Another fans’ chief insisted the timing of new claims by Whyte were motivated by “vengeance”.

Mark Dingwall, of the Rangers’ Supporters Trust, said: “I would love to see Whyte in a court – preferably in the dock for what he has done to Rangers.

“I think his timing is motivated by the looming date for season ticket renewals and that he is looking to inflict even more damage on the club, purely for vengeance.”

John Kennedy Celtic newsJohn Kennedy was delighted by Celtic’s 1-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in their opening fixture in Al Ain International Football Youth Championship .

A goal from Jamie Lindsay in the 78th minute gave Celtic the win meaning that a draw against Benfica on Tuesday night will be enough to take them through to the semi-finals from their three team group.

At home, despite their impressive winning run, the side has struggled to hit top form but the sunshine of Abu Dhabi seems to have brought out the best in the squad.

“Dinamo Zagreb were convincing winners against Benfica on the first day but our boys were outstanding,” Kennedy said.

“We looked a real solid team, that was as good as we’ve played for a while. Throughout the team everyone did their job and played as a team with some moments of brilliance from individuals.

“Jamie Lindsay scored the only goal which was well deserved, he was fantastic.

“The change of scenery and playing a top side demanded a top performance and we delivered.

“We had chances in the first half then Jamie got the goal from a great bit of play and he finished well.”

As an added boost Callum McGregor made his first appearance in five months after being sidelined through injury.

With his eye for a pass and experience the Al Ain Championship is the perfect platform for the midfielder to complete his recovery from injury.

“Callum got the last 20 minutes which was great to see,” Kennedy added. “His return is on schedule and he adds a lot to our squad.

“We’ll go light on training on Monday ahead of the Benfica match. They’ve had an extra day of rest so we’ll need to be at our best for them on Tuesday night.”

  27. Celtic fans protest over new law and policing

    Monday 8 April 2013

A CELTIC supporters’ group has called for a campaign of “harassment” in a bid to fight laws some say are leading to fans being criminalised through disproportionate measures to crack down on hate crime.

The small shareholders’ group, the Celtic Trust, is also to launch a petition next week to call for a parliamentary inquiry into how the police behaved when an unauthorised march by the Green Brigade group of Celtic fans in Glasgow last month led to 13 arrests.

Jeanette Findlay, trustee and former chairwoman of the Celtic Trust, represented the trust at Saturday’s Fans Against Criminalisation rally and march in Glasgow and urged fans to email Scottish Parliament representatives to protest against the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications Act, which fans fear has led to “heavy-handed” policing.

She told a crowd of 3000 in the city’s George Square about an online email template they could use and added: “Lets bombard them day in day out, let’s harass them the way they harass us. Let’s make their lives as difficult as they have made ours and keep doing it until they stop.

“The tide is turning for these people. What happened three weeks ago crossed the line.”

A demonstration is planned for April 24 outside the Scottish Parliament, when the petition will be submitted.

Ms Findlay, a University of Glasgow economics lecturer, said the act had to be removed from the statute book and police “brought under control and to leave football fans alone”.

She has appealed to fans to comply with an appeal to provide witness statements over the Green Brigade arrests so police are “held to account”.

The Glasgow demonstration held by the Green Brigade in March lead to accusations that police went over the top, with some accusing the now-defunct Strathclyde Police of “harassment”.

Officers form a cordon, a practice known as “kettling”, near the Chrystal Bell pub at Gallowgate at around 1pm, ahead of the 4-3 home win against Aberdeen.

Campaigners are concerned this was one of the results of the act, which gives police and prosecutors new powers to tackle sectarian songs and abuse at and around football matches, as well as threats posted on the internet or through the mail.

The act created two offences, punishable by a range of penalties up to a maximum five years in prison and an unlimited fine.

Ms Findlay added: “There is not another group in society, and I am including criminal gangs, and I am including drug dealers, who are subjected to the same level of surveillance, who are searched, scrutinised, photographed, videoed, monitored, vilified, arrested and generally subjected to the most appalling and vindictive harassment.

“And for what? Not for acts of violence, or disorder or anything like that.

“But maybe for wearing a T-shirt they don’t like.

“Maybe for having a banner they don’t find particularly funny, maybe singing a song that makes them uncomfortable, holding views they don’t agree with, maybe singing a hymn, maybe making the sign of a cross.”

There was a also a march by more than 2000 fans to Celtic Park. The fans had ignored a police warning about possible arrests. Police were “delighted” with the protesters’ conduct.

Umbrella organisation Fans Against Criminalisation had earlier urged fans to be on their best behaviour and for the march to be peaceful.
