Cenkos involvement worth attention

585

There is a realisation that the information issued by Craig Whyte last week is only the beginning of what promises to be weeks of salacious details.  Ownership of Ibrox, Murray Park and other assets purchased by Sevco 5088, a company which Charles Green signed a Companies House form for on 27 December 2012, but which Craig Whyte claims to be a significant interest holder in, is in doubt.

This matter could take weeks to play out and months, or longer, to settle.  The evidence provided thus far is interesting but courts are notoriously more concerned by paperwork than recorded conversations.  If Craig Whyte has paperwork to back his claims he will feel by far the more comfortable of the two parties.

Of more immediate concern will be what Cenkos Securities knew.  Cenkos were the Nominated Advisors for Rangers International’s recent Initial Public Offering and Newco’s directors would have been required to inform them of any claim over assets, no matter how spurious or disputed.

City Regulators move quicker than the courts and will want early information on when Whyte’s claims were made, what was revealed to Cenkos and how the board minute-d these matters.  Keep your eye on this one.

Having used David Longmuir to get at SFL clubs in an attempt to sink league reconstruction plans Charles Green, who has made no secret of his opposition to them, turned to St Mirren chairman Stuart Gilmour.  Gilmour, who was incandescent with outrage last year when SFL clubs refused to make a space in their top flight for Newco, plans to acquiesce.

He should reconsider before the St Mirren board meet to discuss this on Wednesday.

You may well be right on the anti-religious bigotry. But given that the 2 schools that were ear marked for closure had the same campaigners working to save them. All the shops in the village backing them as both schools stand at either side of the village (precinct) and therefore have busy pedestrian traffic going and coming from school,I find it unbelievable that the only Catholic school is to be closed allowing 3 non-denominational schools to remain open. Catholic children will then have to travel by bus to St.Andrews in Bearsden, certainly no great issue if they have access to cars, but this is not the case. The principal is that they refused to build a Catholic secondary school in the area about 5-6 years ago saying that they did not have funding. This was ridiculous as the mainstay was already in place at the old St Andrews college campus was offered to them by the Archdiocese. However they did find the funds to pull down Douglas Academy a school that was less than 40 years old and build a new one and managed to keep the 3 non-denominational secondary schools in the Milngavie/Bearsden area. Catholic kids thats ok you can either travel on buses to John Paul Academy in Maryhill or St Ninians in Kirkintilloch, then a couple of years back they stopped kids going to John Paul.

Whatever their reasons it always seems that its the Catholic kids who are hard done by. Totally sickened by this and I personally feel that this is an anti-Catholic agenda. I see ther councillors etc coming and going from the local goat house right slap bang in the middle of the village.

I will fight this in anyway I can.

  6. swatson – There’s a precedent in Italy when one particular division was expanded from 20 to 24 teams and Fiorentina were promoted 2 divisions on “sporting merit”. I don’t think the Italian FA were interested in providing any further explanation than that and UEFA didn’t ask.

  7. Just arrived back in. I was obviously wrong about prejudging St Mirren. I think they are making a big mistake in siding, and seen to be so doing, with Green.

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

I am concerned by the reports coming from supporters groups of harassment at football matches which culminated in the events at the march on the 16th, indeed you may have seen the tweets I sent on the issue.

I supported my colleague Michael McMahon in his questions to the Scottish Government and felt that the Cabinet Secretary’s responses were inadequate and focussed on whether the march had been authorised or not rather than the level of police response.

I am in the process of contacting fan representative groups in order to collect further evidence to present to the Scottish Government on the use of police powers which are a result of the recently introduced legislation and will keep you updated of the progress of these meetings.

  23. Of topic Bhoys but this is my local primary school and where all my kids went. Any chance to sign the petition would be grateful. As it says only Catholic school in the area and ending 150 years Catholic education if this goes ahead. Strangely the non- denominational school was saved, so we will have 3 non-denominational schools and no Catholic school. Shocking.

    Thank you.

    ——————————————————————————————————————-

The answer to this situation is easy – send your kids to a non dom school. You teach your kids all the RE they need, take them to mass, stations of the cross etc bring them up the right way, send them to school to be educated not seperated.

    ——————————————————————————————————————–

67heaven, on what point are you referring? sonsoferin says there has been a case in Italy where meritocracy was not given precedent?

  25. I can’t really articulate why, but I love it that the date of Easter changes every year.

We are not alone. The way international business follows the western calendar, the dates of the major Jewish holidays, the major Muslim holidays and the lunar new year all change too.

There are far bigger considerations in some of these moveable feasts than Scottish and other local authorities face in sorting out school holidays.

For example, the feast of Eid al-Adha is moving closer to a summer date. If you are involved in the meat industry or the leather industry in a country like Bangladesh or Pakistan, this is a really big deal. There is a lack of refrigerated storage available and a lack of available affordable electricity to create it, but that won’t do anything to stop something like 70% of the annual total of animal slaughter taking place at the time of the feast.

Compared to this, moving school holidays around a wee bit is a dawdle.

  26. philvisreturns on

benjybhoy mul – send them to school to be educated not seperated

I see you are unburdened by education. (thumbsup)

  27. Not the least bit concerned about 12 – 12 – 18, or whatever concoction the

corruption filled SFA try to contrive.

But remain fairly confident that despite Huns and their Soup Takers from

differing backgrounds in MSM, Sevco 5088 will serve their full term as Zombies

    – if they are lucky, because the good people of Scotland know what they

did, and voted on that basis.

MSM told us that David Murray was a ‘Sugar Daddy’

MSM told us that there were no money troubles at Ibrokes

MSM told us admin would never happen

MSM told us Craig Whyte had settled all debt

MSM told us liquidation was a nasty rumour

Much more concerned what Celtic do if there is ever to be a return to the

    bad old days.

Continuing Celtic as the greatest Scottish team may not be enough for some Celtic supporters, but Saturday for a number of reasons marked a return of magic, and the Split cannot come quickly enough.

Celtic and the MSM are incompatible, and we should always be thankful to the Hugh Keevans Andy Walker’s and Jim Duffy’s of Scotland and be grateful for where they actively helped to put Sevco 5088 by perpetrating misinformation for a living.

  28. Tried to sign the Celtic Trust petition but no success after clicking on Find my MSP. Well over 600 signatures now.
