Cenkos involvement worth attention

585

There is a realisation that the information issued by Craig Whyte last week is only the beginning of what promises to be weeks of salacious details.  Ownership of Ibrox, Murray Park and other assets purchased by Sevco 5088, a company which Charles Green signed a Companies House form for on 27 December 2012, but which Craig Whyte claims to be a significant interest holder in, is in doubt.

This matter could take weeks to play out and months, or longer, to settle.  The evidence provided thus far is interesting but courts are notoriously more concerned by paperwork than recorded conversations.  If Craig Whyte has paperwork to back his claims he will feel by far the more comfortable of the two parties.

Of more immediate concern will be what Cenkos Securities knew.  Cenkos were the Nominated Advisors for Rangers International’s recent Initial Public Offering and Newco’s directors would have been required to inform them of any claim over assets, no matter how spurious or disputed.

City Regulators move quicker than the courts and will want early information on when Whyte’s claims were made, what was revealed to Cenkos and how the board minute-d these matters.  Keep your eye on this one.

Having used David Longmuir to get at SFL clubs in an attempt to sink league reconstruction plans Charles Green, who has made no secret of his opposition to them, turned to St Mirren chairman Stuart Gilmour.  Gilmour, who was incandescent with outrage last year when SFL clubs refused to make a space in their top flight for Newco, plans to acquiesce.

He should reconsider before the St Mirren board meet to discuss this on Wednesday.

RobertTressell – It may well be, Robert. The leadership of the Church in Scotland is depressingly poor, and if I were a betting man I wouldn’t put money on them doing anything proactive beyond releasing a peevish press release. They just aren’t of the same calibre as their 19th century predecessors, who built schools and cathedrals and football clubs without needing to take orders or money from the State.

Perhaps Pope Francis will change things for the better, but they didn’t listen to Benedict so I’m not holding my breath. (thumbsup)

Separate schools is not the problem as there isn’t one in England and many more countries.

It only seems to be a problem here or norn Ireland.

    Can you find the link?

  6. The reconstruction ‘ideas’ are such utter rubbish I don’t know why ANYONE is giving them credence.

It’s all part of this obfuscatory game to salvage the west coast brogue and bigotry bizness.

    And..

…Campbell (on the easy money) Ogilvie is still there……like Grima Wormtongue, dragging the game through yet more moribund semi-paralysed depression.

Of topic Bhoys but this is my local primary school and where all my kids went. Any chance to sign the petition would be grateful. As it says only Catholic school in the area and ending 150 years Catholic education if this goes ahead. Strangely the non- denominational school was saved, so we will have 3 non-denominational schools and no Catholic school. Shocking.

    Thank you.

The answer to this situation is easy – send your kids to a non dom school. You teach your kids all the RE they need, take them to mass, stations of the cross etc bring them up the right way, send them to school to be educated not seperated.

My kids are all adults, the only one in my family going to school is the wife who is a PT in JP11. This is about believing in the Catholic education system and the fact that there will be no Catholic school in our area. If you are happy for this good on you I however believe that Catholic education is a major part of raising Catholic children, as is taking them to mass and teaching them at home. It’s a kind of package deal and also the rights of Catholics in this country to have a Catholic education. Why treat our kids different from others in this area.
