Cenkos involvement worth attention

585

There is a realisation that the information issued by Craig Whyte last week is only the beginning of what promises to be weeks of salacious details.  Ownership of Ibrox, Murray Park and other assets purchased by Sevco 5088, a company which Charles Green signed a Companies House form for on 27 December 2012, but which Craig Whyte claims to be a significant interest holder in, is in doubt.

This matter could take weeks to play out and months, or longer, to settle.  The evidence provided thus far is interesting but courts are notoriously more concerned by paperwork than recorded conversations.  If Craig Whyte has paperwork to back his claims he will feel by far the more comfortable of the two parties.

Of more immediate concern will be what Cenkos Securities knew.  Cenkos were the Nominated Advisors for Rangers International’s recent Initial Public Offering and Newco’s directors would have been required to inform them of any claim over assets, no matter how spurious or disputed.

City Regulators move quicker than the courts and will want early information on when Whyte’s claims were made, what was revealed to Cenkos and how the board minute-d these matters.  Keep your eye on this one.

Having used David Longmuir to get at SFL clubs in an attempt to sink league reconstruction plans Charles Green, who has made no secret of his opposition to them, turned to St Mirren chairman Stuart Gilmour.  Gilmour, who was incandescent with outrage last year when SFL clubs refused to make a space in their top flight for Newco, plans to acquiesce.

He should reconsider before the St Mirren board meet to discuss this on Wednesday.

  3. Cowiebhoy, I met so many CQNers, I’m not going to name ones I’m not sure of, but EmbraMike is two to your left. The others, I spent lots of time talking to the fella to my left, but as I say, so many names, I think I shook hands with around 70 or so people, all pushing money into my hand. Remember, when we meet again lads, just repeat that, thanks.

For everyone else, I’m holding the banner, Cowiebhoy is peeking over the football fans not criminals banner.

  5. Just finished watching the 2011 Scottish Cup Final (there’s nothing good on telly tonight) and was absolutely gobsmacked at the conduct of George Peat as Scott Brown was presented with the trophy. The stadium is going berserk and he is standing there blatantly doing the slow hand-clap. I realise that there are far more important things going on in the Timverse right now but felt I had to share my Sunday night indignation at something that a raging hun did ages ago.

Also on my mind tonight are the assurances Green gave the SFA that Whyte was not involved. Should he be called to explain the situation.

And seeing as Neil Lennon got hailed up by the SPL for swearing at a football match (whoever heard of such behaviour!) will Charles Green be summoned by the SFL/SFA for his racist remarks to the Sun recently?

Just in case anyone was wondering these are rhetorical questions much like the question whether Rangers would ever be punished by the SFA for a decade of cheating.

Thanks – I did meet Embramike, and recognised, he did very well holding up banner for a prolonged period – he was 3rd person.

Met many fine CQN’rs, but too many to remember names.

My head is the one above the small banner at front of the main CQN one and next to the young lad who also had an extended stint holding up the main banner

  11. Who wants to hear some good stuff about Pope Francis?

Well, it has come to light that when Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected and his picture began to appear all over the shop, the beggars that line up on the Via Conciliazione suddenly recognised him as someone who had always stopped to talk to them and ask them how they were getting on.

They hadn’t even realised he was a cardinal, but he was a well kent face among the poorest.

I guess it will be somewhere around 950 on the sky channel list for people living in Scotland (I live in N.E. England and its 101 for us).

They showed a brief trailer during the local news in which he talked up champions league nights.

I get the feeling that some of our fans feel that when Sevco self destruct as they probably will due to the internecine clan warfare between Green and Whyte that there will be a consortium of “Rangers Men” ready to step in and keep the Zombies alive even in a Mark III format. I’m not so sure that this will be the case.

We are probably fortunate that on a football sense we are living during a double/ triple dip depression ( I mean absolutely no disrespect to people in this country suffering the effects of this during unemployment and having to exist on meagre benefits). I do not think that there will be so many Blue Knights lined up to plough their money into a Newco that has failed for a second time. Let’s face it. How many of their fellow travellers will step up to the plate to bu.y shares for a third time having been shafted twice already especially during a deeming financial crisis nationally.

I think we will soon be seeing the death throes as the club who believed they were once called Rangers FC.
