Winning the league at Tynecastle, or against Aberdeen at Celtic Park, would both be acceptable. The one blot today’s fixture announcement threw up is the possibility that we could win the league while not playing, if Aberdeen fail against Motherwell, a game which kicks off after our match at Tynecastle has ended.
Whatever way it falls, securing five-in-a-row is surely now a matter of when, not if.
After ‘news’ that our chief executive could be a target for a relegation-threatened English club yesterday, our media have moved into the playing squad today. Is there a game coming up they’re worried about?
These transfer pieces are always available. Every club has records on literally hundreds of players. You can write a piece on any player, at any time, on tenuous information, they just happen to pop up at a convenient moment.
Still holding out for a love rat story before the weekend, or a reprisal of the ‘Refs let Scott Brown off the hook’ narrative.

I think everyone is in the same boat regarding Tynecastle with the reduced allocation. We’ve been very fortunate that we got tickets from Celtic for both the cup and the league games.
I’m now concerned that that could count against us for the next game.
We’ll find out soon enough.
Sergio aguerro penalty miss … pulled wide of the goal .
Sound familiar

Why are you all in the same boat for TyneCastle… I will drive you through and you will get there quicker than all the daft celtic sailors ;)
In a week when football makes you feel rather dirty a timely wee reminder of who we are
Michael Davitt, The Spade And The Shamrocks…

Smith like all the other Huns really believe that they were hard done bye.I have good friends who I consider to be decent people who believe it. They think they have the divine right to be above the rules. They include the majority of officialdom in Scottish football and the majority of the media in their ranks. Add to that the other big club in the country board is not willing to challenge what has gone on for years, they get away with it. No my friends nothing is going to change. We can kid ourselves on that Rangers are dead, but the beast lives on. The only way to rid our self of them is to get to feck out of this little bigoted countries football set up. When that will happen will not be in the near future, if ever at all. I just hope and pray that that RD can manage to put out a team on Sunday to give them a good humping. I won’t be there and I will not be watching on TV.

I’ll leave you and sailor boy OldTim to it, I’ll parade through :-)

“Michael Davitt”
Farewell, great rebel, all the glorious ghosts
Of all who loved and died for Ireland stand
About your sepulchre, an angel band;
llie great, whose names are blown about the coasts
Of the world’s glory, and the noble hosts
Of nameless martyrs for their Motherland,
Who gave green Erin heart and brain and hand,
The captains and the soldiers at their posts.
Rest, brother, in content, whose mortal eyes
Saw, ere they slept, the triumph half achieved,
And freedom nearer on a flowing tide;
For the long warfare wear the victor’s prize –
No lovelier life for Ireland ever lived.
No happier death for Ireland ever died.

Is Bell the surname? :-)
Bad Ass Cafe in Dublin for me for the game. Great bunch of lads in the CSC there and also have Smithwicks Blonde on tap. Nice!
DHARMABAM@7:37 – Cheers – thanks for coming back.
On the JOHN ST to POLLOKSHAWS ROAD thing – what I was getting at was that the headline act The Marbles and their band were long gone, probably back in their hotel by the time we had finished – then it was load the Commer van( 3 flights of stairs) and head for the coffee stall off Pollokshaws Road.
It was one of those small dark green caravan-type stalls with a small opening in one side, don’t know it the council supplied them. No curry-houses and fast-food shops in those days, only chip shops, which all closed around 11.
The ‘fayre’ on offer in those coffee stalls was ‘rank’ – tea and coffee lukewarm and tasted exactly the same, stewed. They used to make up the rolls and sausage or blackpudding or tattie scone, in advance and keep them in the oven – so when you finally got one, the roll was, to put it mildly, ‘crispy’ and the sliced sausage like rubber- but we didn’t care, we covered in lashings of heavily-diluted Rowats sauce – probably hadn’t eaten all day and were starving.
Finally, it was drop-off time, with the van ‘speeding through the early hours’ to all points in Glasgow – Castlemilk/Govan/Cardonald/Drumchapel and finally to wherever our one roadie lived – I think Ballieston – heady days indeed.
Is it too much to hope that Bummur and the Big Wig…………make an appearance “shoartly”……….
……it would lend the proceedings a Blazer / Blazing Saddles aspect that would seem appropriate.
HT
Have we ever had anyone called Bell playing for us
Anyone know what time kick off on Sunday is and what TV company is showing it… Sky BT etc
Big Zlatan can fair hit a free kick
Tbj. the under 17’s captain is Lewis Bell.
Just got in and catching up on whats been happening…….what a dreak night , well at least the wee birds don’t mind too much singing in the rain afore they hit their nests for the night……when you think of “singing in the rain” you think of Danny Kaye…….remember him the year 1950 Celts beat the huns 3-2 at Hampden……think Danny would have been a tim. Danny Bhoy was introduced to the teams afore ko……betcha he was all smiles at the end.
Surprised at the vitriol directed towards Walt. Any capable manager could have helped the Old co huns do very well in Europe in the early 90’s. Instead, they were ritually humiliated by a bunch of moderate Europeans.
He helped bring them down. Sadly, Old Firmism is alive and well despite the liquidation of Rangers.
At least that witless nickname ‘monkeys’ hasn’t caught on with the wider Celtic support.

The name doesn’t ring……:/)
I can’t think of any but maybe some of the more mature posters may know better.
Mr Pastry,
Thank you for your reply and your highly detailed description of the stall. You really didn’t need to go into such detail on that; I was only unclear about the distance of your perambulations. Thank you all the same for sharing it, though. It really was a different world, then.
Let’s be honest – many Celtic men still can’t do without some form of Rangers. The Newco are a different beast from the old one. Hence, why I have no interest in obsessive watching of their games, transfers etc. Yet other Celtic men watch their every game.

I don’t think Navas was christened Jesus….
PSG No 23 is trying to colour himself in…
11am ko
PSG are poor without Veratti. Ibra and Cavani great headers of the ball and they won’t put crosses in.

We’re still in the Only slightly Grey/Bald Brigade! :-)
the arrogance of walter smith is breathtaking, celtic need to pack it in scotland is a bigoted corrupt country
Ronaldo ohohoh

The first goalkeeper to play a league match for Celtic was James Bell.
Vinniebhoy
Game will be on at Kennedy’s and The Shamrock
All,
Delighted by today’s press conference at CP.
Thought Lustig was appropriately banal, and said nothing that will be turned against us.
Even saw one journalist complaining about the lack of substance in their comments.
However, even more pleased to see The Cardigans comments about our players lacking motivation.
I would be pinning that one to our dressing room wall.
DD
Yeh, read that in wiki page but couldn’t cut n paste on my phone

Ding dong ?
Had almost forgotten how much of an ole hateful bigot the loyal cardigan is.
Paisley seems almost likeable next to him ( the man ,no the toon :)
