Champions League day is here!

Champions League day is here!!  Our season has never before started in a stadium in Reykjavik which holds less than 3,000 people but, on paper, it is the perfect venue.  Should Celtic qualify for the group stages, there will be greater challenges, and when they come, we will be grateful for these competitive games.

Cameras will focus on Ronny Deila before kick-off.  I am beside myself with anticipation to see how his team plays, but it will be a while before we get a true picture of that.  Tonight we’ll see Neil Lennon’s team, inspired by little more than encouragement from Ronny and John Collins.

A win and a clean sheet, please, Celtic.

BobM, not quite, I’ll still have to drive to and from Arbroath in the boogie bus. I’m not familiar with the murrayfield area and parking so the Acsc bus is maybe a good option.

Normal service will resume once the season kicks off at paradise.

I’ve got the label for my next bottling almost ready. Some minor teaks required by the graphic designer. I’ll email it to you and you can let me know what you think. Very difficult task for me trying to fit with the views and opinions of all the syndicate bassa’s who have no artistic talent whatsoever. So they all just get overridden by ra label meister:-)).

I’ll have you know I draw a great pint. Mind you,I can drain one faster and I’m nae plumber!

  7. All I want in this game is more goals than the opposition. Too early to expect a massive change of style although an 8-0 win would be nice.

Caution would be in order tonight. This lot will be physical and match sharp. The sharpness is paramount, a real leveller, so I’d be happy with a draw or narrow win.

give and go, keep the ball moving, and don’t be pulled out of position.

each player has their own zone – dominate it, be better than your opposite number.

There is Leicester fans’ site on newsnow celtic saying they are interested in signing Kris.

I hope its a load of baloney. Kris,Lisa and their family are vital to Celtic and what we are about.

I seem to remember they were going to protest outside the Scottish Cup final between Hibs and Hearts as well.

    How did that turn out?

  12. I imagine we all confidently expect a win tonight and progression to the next round. The unknown is the performance. OK its Lenny’s squad plus any promotions from Development team. However its Ronny’s selection and formation and its Ronny’s tactics & motivation. I don’t see any widespread clear outs or ” buy ins” on the horizon, so we cannot go through the year either good or bad trotting out the “Lenny’s team” mantra. Football is full of examples of new bosses coming in and working the oracle on players they inherit.

BobM, I wisnay talking aboot you. I was talking about the numb nuts I’m dealing wi in my current syndicate. The artistic talent of future sysndicates has yet to be established!!!

Ha ha. Off to take my 5th truck load of crap from my garage to the dump. Mrs acgr has decided she wants to use the garage to store her car. What a strange and abstract idea.

  14. we’re off….I just hope the ride ain’t as bumpy as last season, but i’d settle for what happened in the season before COYBIG

Their behaviour and tactics of violence and intimidation has not changed one iota.

Wonder if a compliant local government, media and police force will accommodate their stupidity.

Eh? Has she thought this through?

Where else is she gonna store things which are of no earthly use anymore and just cluttering up the house before she finally, five years later, decides to get rid?

Not you, btw! I’m talking about old hoovers and carpets, etc. Honest!!

ACGR, using a garage to store a car? That idea will never catch on, never in a month of Sundays.

Would like a good performance but will be delighted with any result that allows us to progress to next round. Agree with Auldheid – one game at a time.

*Just finished “Natchez Burning” by Greg Iles. Modern day (2005) deep south it bounces back and forth to the 60’s.

Pretty grim reading about a period in American history that never should be forgotten or forgiven.
