Champions League day is here!! Our season has never before started in a stadium in Reykjavik which holds less than 3,000 people but, on paper, it is the perfect venue. Should Celtic qualify for the group stages, there will be greater challenges, and when they come, we will be grateful for these competitive games.
Cameras will focus on Ronny Deila before kick-off. I am beside myself with anticipation to see how his team plays, but it will be a while before we get a true picture of that. Tonight we’ll see Neil Lennon’s team, inspired by little more than encouragement from Ronny and John Collins.
A win and a clean sheet, please, Celtic.

Midfield is weak in the absence of Scott Brown. I don’t get the elevated status of Johansen now that Ronny’s at Lennoxtown. He is still the same player who lofts Hollywood passes to the opposition and gives the ball away, sort of an over-ambitious Kayal.
I’m also slightly concerned at Deila’s pre-season 4-3-3, which has seen Commons in the middle rather than as an attacking midfielder.
None of this should matter tonight, but I can’t take anything for granted when it comes to Celtic.
I’d go 4-3-1-2: Forster; Lustig, O’Connell, Van Dijk, Twardzik; Kayal, Biton, Mulgrew; Pukki; Commons, Stokes

Just shared a taxi from work with a hurting hun .
He told me the ” real ” reason Rangers never signed John Hartson .
Big bad John flew up for signing talks but had a drink on the plane . Bert van Lingan smelled his breath and reported him to wee Dick .
Wee Dick sent BBJ packing telling him he doesn’t sign drinkers .

I managed to hold the laughter in until i got out of the taxi .
PS i know they are deluded but the entertainment value is priceless .
Ronny’s pre-season has been encouraging in comparison to this time last year. I caught the game against Rapid Vienna and was impressed by the team. I’m really looking forward to this evenings game against the Icelanders and matches against teams almost halfway through their season are always tricky affairs, so best of luck to Ronny, John and the Bhoys.
Great to see some of the less fancied teams performing so well in the World Cup and it was encouraging to see the Germans and Netherlands being successful with teams composed almost entirely of players from their domestic leagues.
Just read that piece about Angela Haggerty and the abuse she received after telling the Huns a few home truths.
That crowd of Neanderthals really are the scum of the Earth and must be the most despised bunch of “football” fans on the planet.
And if they March on Celtic Park to disrupt the Commonwealth opening then billions of sports fans the world over will see them for what they are….utter scum.
