Before the CL Group stage draw, it’s about glamour ties, which maximise income possibilities against chances of progression, which helps coefficients, finances, player experience, fan participation etc.

Realistically we would want to be in Europe after Xmas, and Europa League is most likely (but not only) route. So a good Pot 3 opponent is preferable. Accordingly avoiding Spurs is my wish as they would constitute most difficult home and away.

8 points from 2 wins and 2 draws would net us a chance to progress plus about €4m points prize money

  7. Boys on BT very complimentary about Celtic, the team in Pot4 that the big teams will want to avoid.

  8. Cabbageandbacon….

Well in mate. Here’s hoping we get a good draw that we can progress from.

Just listened to the commentator saying no team will want to go to Celtic park due to the atmosphere….that sent a shiver up my spine. HH

Draw is live on TV from 5pm on BT Sport (now) and Eurosport, plus a number of online sites

  10. Have seen Celtic away against lots of possible opponents – including v Real Madrid QF European Cup 1980 – but have never been to Dortmund or Bruges.

They are top of my list.

    Celtic – I love you.

  11. It’s not just about the glamour and the money. A few good results are needed for the co-efficient!

  12. Players from all over Europe will be hoping to draw Celtic for the chance to sample our Euro night atmosphere,

  13. Auld Tam…

BT sports 2 on my telly.

No huns will be watching it…all their tellys flew out their windows when the final whistle went on Tuesday:))

  14. TULLY57 –

Seen the Bhoys away in Europe many times.

    Dortmund beats the lot. Amazing.

Agreed mate, reckon the commentators meant teams could be overwhelmed by the noise made before and during the game. HH
