Champions!

1808

Congratulations to Ronny Deila, his players and supporting cast on becoming Scottish champions, season 2014-15.  The man from Norway has got his team playing flowing, attractive, football, he has improved players throughout the squad, and should be delighted with the shape of the club at the moment.

Congratulations too to the Celtic fans, who recognised the manager and team needed their support, which has been delivered solidly throughout the campaign.

I’m delighted for Aberdeen, who have matched Celtic toe-to-toe against the rest of the league.  It has been a stunning season for a team with comparatively meagre resources.  Motherwell were best of the rest for the last two seasons, but they were miles off the pace, and never reached the consistency of Aberdeen this season.

It’s four in a row for the third time in our history, matching Willie Maley’s team’s achievement in 1908 and Jock’s in 1969.

These are great times to be a Celtic fan, enjoy being champions!

  7. During their testimony to the CHAMPIONEES the ole BB of C came up with the odd statistic that, allegedly, this is the first time Celtic have won a championship in a year ending with a ‘5’, the last time being 1915.

Too befuddled and even fuddled to care to work it out or not.

Thanks Ronny for the title and especially for last night. Many more of them please!

    Enjoy yer family weekend.

Apparently this is our first title when the year ends in a ‘five’ since 1915.

Delighted we’ve got league in the bag, and as someone who was critical of Ronny D, well done to him and the team.

I suspect him and players need both a physical and mental rest, and it would be good to see 2/3 youngsters get an outing in the next few weeks, in particular Leo Fasan, if he is to be back up keeper next season

  12. Hi Paul67,

    Great work again this season.

Hope your faither’s knee is holding out and he’s standing up for the CHAMPIONS.

What a weekend so far … Champions for the 4th time in a row with the real prospect of 6 more and counting, plus a champagne performance last night.

Off oot for a small sherbet in the The Roseburn Bar which will be full of happy Jambos and Hibees, but the discerning Tims will be celebrating quietly amid the furtive, admiring glances – they know what they have to face next season !!!!

Funnily enough, there will be no HUNS about – stopped coming in a few years ago for some reason ☺☺☺☺ (another 4 in a row !!!! )

Enjoy your evening refreshments my esteemed fellow CQNers …

He must be a proud dad on receiving the news in his homeland.

    Onwards and upwards.

  17. Celtic Mac, I touched on this at the start of the season but I truly believe we’re operating on a different level with Ronny. He may have failed, but the recruitment criteria for this one was completely different than any Celtic managerial appointment in 49 years.

Still buzzing, as the Maestro said there’s a buzz about the place !

  24. Paul,

well said. Aberdeen achieved a degree of consistency that was beyond what they could have expected.

To the hurting mob I say, the ONLY thing that has changed in Scottish football, is that other clubs now have to pay their taxes. That’s all.

I will say that I have been Ronny’s biggest critic. In the first half of the season, our midfield 2 were isolated. We had non-wingers being press-ganged into pretending they were wingers. All of this MIGHT have been overcome, had we had a striker who could tuck away the scrappy goals.

Much of this has now been fixed. What remains is to find a way to get another body into the box earlier. We can look forward with hope of further progress.

He’s done well, has our Ronny.
