Champions!

1808

Congratulations to Ronny Deila, his players and supporting cast on becoming Scottish champions, season 2014-15.  The man from Norway has got his team playing flowing, attractive, football, he has improved players throughout the squad, and should be delighted with the shape of the club at the moment.

Congratulations too to the Celtic fans, who recognised the manager and team needed their support, which has been delivered solidly throughout the campaign.

I’m delighted for Aberdeen, who have matched Celtic toe-to-toe against the rest of the league.  It has been a stunning season for a team with comparatively meagre resources.  Motherwell were best of the rest for the last two seasons, but they were miles off the pace, and never reached the consistency of Aberdeen this season.

It’s four in a row for the third time in our history, matching Willie Maley’s team’s achievement in 1908 and Jock’s in 1969.

These are great times to be a Celtic fan, enjoy being champions!

Ah the chanter is a broken thing, and cannot croak a tune

a shadow of his former self and, some might say, a loon

he whispers to the darkness, and struggles from the bed

and everybody mumbles, the ould bugger should be dead

So dance while you can, O’Flynn and O’Quinn

for the flags are flyin high

but the tide will soon be in

  2. Hun keeper wiping out Jambo striker not even worth a mention. I’m sure Craig sent off for less. Sshhhhh.

You know what. Couldn’t give a mojo about manager of the year titles.

Whether we like it or not we are expected to win the league and one cup. If rionnie, our visionary manager who I have always supported, even through some massively bad euro games didn’t win it, so what.

    I’ll take it.

Not much chance of Mason in Black sending off Hun in his last game, that’s not a story for the bowling club circuit.

  5. People talking about Neilson being MOTY. Has a lower league manager ever won it previously?

  6. Keeping The Faith on

Was thinking te same thing HT, thought the lower leagues had their own awards.

It was the greatest league in Scotland ever this season though.

Did you notice the car registration?

So did I. Don’t get me wrong I think Neilson has done really well but for me it would be nonsensical to give it to someone out with the top flight.

Odd business goalkeeping. Finest ninety minutes of itI ever saw was at Easter road by the sometimes maligned John Fallon.

If that was St. Andrews day 1968 (2-5), you’re not wrong sir.

    My favourite game ever.

    Re Mourinho

70% win rate over his 2 spells in The Premiership better than any other Manager, top tier titles in Portugal, Italy and Spain as well as the 3 in England, not forgetting 2 Champions League wins with 2 different clubs, a phenomenal record, one of the best managers in the history of the game, no doubt.

  11. Just for the record who exactly chose the manager/players of the year for the awards tonight? Hail Hail Hebcelt

  12. Mourinho is a sleekit Snidey barrrsurt totally against the ethos of the sport.

His patter is good sometimes. That’s it.

    Aye,I walked intae that…

  14. Celtic’s resources compared to Inverness is like comparing a heavyweight boxer to a featherweight

So Hughes has done a remarkable job & good luck to him but he wouldn’t have been in my top three.

Has he really had a better season than the Aberdeen guy? No.

The top two managers have proven to be Ronny and Robbie.

Personally I would have gone for the Hearts guy as it was totally unexpected.

So if Falkirk win the cup will Yogi pass the prize to Peter Houston

Anyway I’ll take winning the league every season over the manager of the year.

Just had a look back at previous winners of MOTY award, since the last Celtic manager to win John McGlynn and Allan Johnston have been among the winners , Walter Myth has won it more recently than a Celtic manager ffs so maybe a poisoned chalice.

  16. Keeping the Faith…Walter myth…I aint heard that before mate…Brilliant ..im Laughing…
