Champions!

1808

Congratulations to Ronny Deila, his players and supporting cast on becoming Scottish champions, season 2014-15.  The man from Norway has got his team playing flowing, attractive, football, he has improved players throughout the squad, and should be delighted with the shape of the club at the moment.

Congratulations too to the Celtic fans, who recognised the manager and team needed their support, which has been delivered solidly throughout the campaign.

I’m delighted for Aberdeen, who have matched Celtic toe-to-toe against the rest of the league.  It has been a stunning season for a team with comparatively meagre resources.  Motherwell were best of the rest for the last two seasons, but they were miles off the pace, and never reached the consistency of Aberdeen this season.

It’s four in a row for the third time in our history, matching Willie Maley’s team’s achievement in 1908 and Jock’s in 1969.

These are great times to be a Celtic fan, enjoy being champions!

Naw, seriously get a grip of yerselves.

Glorified rounders played by a group of over paid imposters who make a beeline for the pavilion when a wee shower of rain comes on.

Then we see the tossers peering out of the windows of the pavilion with the old am feart in case ma wee white suit gets wet wae the rain.

  3. Can anyone possibly believe the John Hughes would have received his manager award, had Steve McLean not made his humongous error?

Deliberate? The Jury is filling in the paperwork.

So Yogi, no wins in his last 7 SPFL games, should at least send it for Steve “I see no handball” McLean for him to display at his local ludge on goat nights.

TCR – For once I must disagree with you my trusted friend.

Cricket is both a sport and a game, fascinating viewing and enjoyable to participate in – the old hurling skills stood me in good stead the few times that I played cricket. (blame the Englander relations, and a summer or two spent visiting that England place)

Anyway, another battle won by the Celtic, the righteous.

It’s time to chill now brave Celt.

  5. If anyone thinks Motherwell will beat the tribute act in the playoffs,

You are way off the mark.

They, Sevco, will not survive the trip to Dumfries.

    Honest mistakes or not.

  6. 16 roads,

I find 5 day Test Cricket excellent. Not really into the shortening of the game to 20 overs, I can see the appeal of it for the game to see lots of 6s and 4s. A lot of tactics for the olde Cricket as long as the teams are well matched.

I think The Ashes truly is one of Sports great competitions.

I certainly wouldn’t like to face fast bowlers throwing that ball at those speeds, takes Bravery so it does to go and attack it.

Ronny Deila said he was going to attack attack attack. ;))

I cannae wait to see next seasons team, the season after should be incredible.

Petec – You are a scholar and a gent.

Hopefully see you during the summer, and we’ll go to a game – TCR is more than welcome, another plus is the fact that ye can go to a game of cricket and sit drinking all day long in the sunshine, even if ya have no interest. It’s alright.

Def gone now. Celebrated a wee bit too much since Friday.

You mind yerself well mo chara.

Looking forward to it, I’ve still to buy the Legend TCR a beer, hopefully my first will be on Erins Isle.

  9. No arguments about Stephen Mallan winning goal of the season. That was sensational, Nir’s strike was Beautiful but that wee guy scored the goal of a Lifetime.

Ronny Deila is the real Manager of the Year.

I am with those thinking that the sickos that hate Celtic gave Yogi the award because he stopped the Treble alongside the Referee Cartel.

  10. Quality

Everything has to be taken into account, especially as he is new to playing against top flight players.

    A wonderful goal.

  11. ‘GG

No wins in last 8 games in SPFL for ICT.

Other professionals vote for this award, like they do the POTY & YPOTY.

In this case it is the managers themselves who vote.

Ronny was asked in an interview (see in on Celtic TV) who he voted for and he said after a wee pause that he was allowed three selections, and Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and ICT got his three votes.

  13. Make that 9 games since ITC won in the SPFL, although they have drawn 5 of those games.

Finishing third behind The Champs and Aberdeen seems to have been A factor…as well as being Scottish Cup finalists for the first time ever :o/

If you like to avoid conspiracy theories that is :o)

No harm to John Hughes himself mind, so Congratulations to him.

Ask Ronny: Would you like the MOTY of win the League?

I thought it was decided by the journos, Snivelling Keevins and Jingle jangle “Wealth off the radar” Jackson and their coven.

    Why not Darren Young? Who?

Darren Young who with no resources, poor facilities and no support has led Albion Rovers to promotion from the 4th tier of Scottish football. In doing so he has won 7 of the last 10 league matches and finished 10 points clear of the subsidized Queens Park.

This MOTY accolade for Yogi will look a bit silly

IMO RD didn’t deserve it …our early season performances were woeful at times…having said that ..we are finishing the season very well
