Congratulations to Ronny Deila, his players and supporting cast on becoming Scottish champions, season 2014-15. The man from Norway has got his team playing flowing, attractive, football, he has improved players throughout the squad, and should be delighted with the shape of the club at the moment.
Congratulations too to the Celtic fans, who recognised the manager and team needed their support, which has been delivered solidly throughout the campaign.
I’m delighted for Aberdeen, who have matched Celtic toe-to-toe against the rest of the league. It has been a stunning season for a team with comparatively meagre resources. Motherwell were best of the rest for the last two seasons, but they were miles off the pace, and never reached the consistency of Aberdeen this season.
It’s four in a row for the third time in our history, matching Willie Maley’s team’s achievement in 1908 and Jock’s in 1969.
These are great times to be a Celtic fan, enjoy being champions!

I didn’t realise that the play offs for the Premiership place follow a different format from the other two. They have a straight semi finals and final whereas the top league one sees the three lower league teams play and then the winner plays the 11th placed team.
Any theories why it is different? Is it simply that the Premiership has more teams and so more games?

Similarly I was thinking the same, but thought maybe I was behind on the story. Yep, given permission by ??
Not surprised Ronny didn’t win the MOTYA and to be perfectly honest I couldent give a tinkers f… Either, when you look down the years of history the amount of awards Celtic never won up here, but where recognised all over the world for the great team that we are well? There you go, I remember King Kenny, he never won the player of the year up here, he was pipped one year for it by a player with silky skills, pace, and a player who could pick a pass, that player my friends was the one and only all time great Rangers and Scotland player John Gregg, I know, I know, some things never change :))
WHATISTHESTARS
I gather they are repealing that archaic law since they found out I may make an appearance next year, haha!

That was the journalists award in those days. We only won it three times in our 9-in-a-row days.

Like yourself, it is not something I am really interested in. For me , Scott Brown was outstandingly Celtic`s best player and I cannot comment on other teams as I only saw them when they were playing us. Using that criteria, I would say GMS and Stuart Armstrong were the best of the rest 0:-)

Remember last nights awards were Pfa
All that shows is the majority of the players and managers would vote for anyone rather than the Celtic manager .
While I can’t agree with their reasoning I understood their dislike of Neil Lennon so they voted against the individual and for Mcinnes ( cos he won the league cup on pens)
But as an individual Ronny has not done or said anything that might get his peers against him .. Therefore last nights award to yogi is a clear vote against the club .
I bet the voting on the players was pretty close
Anyways the only awards that count are the trophies so as Ronny lifts two of the three – he’s the manager of the year

Can you shine any light on this new blog footballs fixed. I hope it’s not going to demean what so far has been a thoroughly professional thought through process Or is that the plan with this “New Insight” to belittle this and nothing to see here Timmy. Would they have information to release that could jeopardise any future legal proceedings? por cierto.
Joseph Plunkett, William Pearse, Edward Daly and Michael O’Hanrahan R.I.P were executed on this day in 1916. #EasterRising.

Reading between the lines I took ‘given permission’ to mean those in control of the process i.e. the shareholders.
I believe the evidence has previously been sent to almost every media outlet in Scotland with no takers. This seems to be the logical next step in the process of bringing exposure of the corruption to a wider audience.
Just sending a letter to the SFA doesn’t seem to get them moving as much as shinning the light of public opinion in those dark corners.
All my own opinion as I have no input or knowledge not already in the public domain on Resolution 12.

Sad news reported by the family of Jimmy Greaves, who has had a “severe stroke” and is in intensive care aged 75.
Ffs John Gregg won that player of the year award twice? Unbelievable, you would figure that along the lines of what those people where thinking voted, that Bomber should have won at least one?
tonydonnelly67 @ 10:00:
John Greig, surely ? John Gregg was an entirely different type of animal.
So Ronny didn’t win the manager of the year award so what.Honestly sometimes we act like children.especially if things don’t go our way.it gets boring same all gripes. What we Celtic Supporter’s should be asking our board. when are going to get a few Quality players on the pitch.no more excuses. we have money to spend.personally I would like to see big changes at our club.especially directors. Whom I seen on Friday evening. going into Celtic Park.some are very old gentleman who over the yrs have served Celtic well
but its time some young people were invited to be part of the Celtic Board .just my opinion .

Aye yer right, I forgot about that crack pot too.
If there was an award for best Norwegian manager in scotland ronnie would score highly but be just be pipped at the post by Bert Olafson who led the Airdrie Ranger Under 8s to a creditable record of 16 wins and 90 losses in this their first season since Phoenixing from the old/same club The Ranger Airdrie FC.
The Ranger airdrie fc were liquidated when the chairman ran off with the goat his brother was married to.

Best wishes to Jimmy Greaves, who has suffered a severe stroke and is in IC.
He was England’s answer to Bobby Lennox.
Aye you cannae forget big ron McKinnon…..always a danger at those set pieces and corners….
One for DBBIA and all,
Just read a wee pamphlet on the history of the Western Infirmary.
“the foundation stone was laid, with full Masonic honours, in August 1871.”
But I liked this bit-
“He was joined by Professor of Clinical Surgery George Buchanan, who had also served in the Crimean War and was noted for his lack of inches. He used a five inch section of a tree trunk as an operating stool and for years it was known as “Geordie Buchanan’s cheese.”
Don’t think he would be allowed to do that these days. The number of ‘firsts’ done at the Western is astonishing.
Good wee read.
This new blog thingmy? For real?
Imagine for a minute if the light is shone on the cheating and connivance of the SFA and some of their member clubs…………
Who will get penalised ?
Campbell is probably drawing up a recommendation that Scotland forfeits it’s entry to the CL for 2, 3 maybe even 6 years.
James F Gang
You goat that right :)
Re: MOTY award
I take on board all that’s been said about ICT’s SPL record – no wins since 14/2
However if you use the criteria of performance over expectation, Hughes is a valid candidate. Most football fans of my acquaintance took the view that, compared to how ICT finished last season, he was a strong favourite to be the first SPL sacking of the season.
A Celtic manager has to win the treble, the SPL by 15-20 pts and make eye-catching CL progress to even stand a chance. IMO what the Hearts guy did was more noteworthy than Hughes.
I noted from the above list that during Celtic’s 9IAR years, only 3 Celts got POTY. I was only a kid at the time but can any aul’hauns fill us in on what G Wallace did in 1967-8 to deny any number of Celts – a year when B Lennox scored 32 in 34 games to win the Bronze Boot??
Seville season Barry Ferguson POTY?!
Timbhoy2
“when are going to get a few Quality players on the pitch”
Yes, when? Obviously, players such as Gordon, Lustig, van Djik, Brown, Armstrong, Biton, GMS, Forrest, Johansen and Griffiths have no quality at all.
RobertTressell
The very question I an asking.
Any award that involved John Grieg being the best player is instantly devalued.
I always thought it summed the difference between us and the dead club perfectly that our greatest ever player is Jimmy Johnstone and theirs was that animal.
With Hibs having to sit out the next couple of weekends
Maybe we should offer them a friendly to keep them up
to speed.
Alan Stubbs and all that.
