The seemingly chaotic life of the Scottish Football League chief executive, David Longmuir, appears more predictable after First Division clubs made their feelings on league reconstruction known. Significant amounts of trickle-down money is available from the SPL to second-tier clubs from next season if they vote to merge the league organisations, which is likely to result in an 18 team bottom league. Longmuir managed to put a spoke in the wheels of a considerable majority in favour of reconstruction but his hopes will be denied.
Three weeks ago we reported speculation that Longmuir aspired to a job at Newco Rangers. Yesterday he responded by saying, “I know there are different expressions of conspiracy going on but I don’t deal in conspiracy, I deal in fact and honesty”. You can bookmark that for future reference.
I predict that the conspiracy will soon merge with fact and honesty – if Newco can still afford to recruit next season.

From the last thread….
Despite my disgust at the seeming leniency of our legal system from time to time, I wouldn’t swap it for this (though I am sure many would)…..,,

Saudi Arabia Man, Ali al-Khawahir, Faces Being Paralysed In ‘Eye-For-An-Eye’ Punishment

A Saudi Arabian man faces being deliberately paralysed in an “eye-for-an-eye” punishment for stabbing his friend in the back 10 years ago.
Ali al-Khawahir was just 14 when he attacked his friend, paralysing him from the waist down, reports the BBC.
Saudi Arabia’s law of retribution, qisas, means he will face the same fate as his former friend if he cannot pay one million riyals (£250,000) in compensation.

Human rights organisation Amnesty International condemned the move. In a statement, its Middle East and North Africa Deputy Director Ann Harrison said: “Paralysing someone as punishment for a crime would be torture.
“That such a punishment might be implemented is utterly shocking, even in a context where flogging is frequently imposed as a punishment for some offences, as happens in Saudi Arabia.
“It is time the authorities in Saudi Arabia start respecting their international legal obligations and remove these terrible punishments ”
Khawahir has spent the last 10 years in prison during which time his 60-year-old mother has campaigned for someone to raise the compensation needed to save her son.
She said: “Ten years have passed with hundreds of sleepless nights. My hair has become grey at a young age because of my son’s problem.
“I have been frightened to death whenever I think about my son’s fate and that he will have to be paralysed,” reports the Saudi Gazette.
I think I’m going to faint with surprise when Longshanks begins his service to the Darkside..
Longmuir has talked himself to a position behind the 8 ball from a position of almost unimpeachable strength.
This takes some doing. He’ll be a good fit when he moves to Sevco.
How is Malcolm Murray these days?

We were called paranoid when we said Jabba behaved as if he was in the pay of Der Hun.
The silence of our board on recent matters is deafening.
Really saddens me.
They do not deserve us

Spotted yesterday: Kenny McDowell trying to park big black range rover, private reg, in sauchiehall st. Space was big enough for a corporation bus. Kenny was being guided by his Missus and was half on half off the kerb. Smiled as I walked past. The whole lot of them are fundamentally useless………………
Mrs McDowell surely has a very good job………..Range Rover eh!!!!!!!!!!

A look at Celtic’s potential fixtures after the SPL split – and why they show that the current system is crazy.
Things Get Silly – It’s SPL Split Time Again
Paul67 , to quote Summi (above) , surely you mean SFL in your title ?

Paul 67:
I firmly believe Sevco will be liquidated. However, like oldco they will emerge in some shaoe or form.
We need them gone just like the unfortunate Third Lanark.

The boards roll of dishonour
1. Silence on Sevco cheating.
2. Silence on Sevco claiming Deidclub history.
3.Silence on treatment of GB( and possible complicity)
4.Silence on this trumped up charge on NL
5. Silence on the corruption at the SFA
6.Silence on the continued involvement in Scottish football of RCO
And on and on and on……….
Come on Big Peter stand up for us PLEASE!!!

We expect anything from celtic regarding the latest bullying of our manager ?
Losing faith week by week
Sometimes it’s right to remain silent and sometimes it’s not.
In Celtic’s case, I believe it is time for the silence to end.

your rhetorical final paragraph-in an enjoyable read- succinctly describes the on-going situation of poor governance in Scottish football. We really are a joke
Ernie-a wee bit of legal speak in your last reply but it is the ridiculous sentencing laws where the problem lies. For example every sentence under x years automatically halfed, justice is never served on behalf of the victim. How many of the 250 hours Community Service will Carlos Tevez do? A guy on 200k a week given a year to pay up 2 grand, a joke.HH

So has Chuckles suggested to someone that if there is a reconstruction that would be to his benefit he might have a vacancy for an ambitious, bright young man?
And hasn’t he just sacked Sandaza for taking part in a conversation somewhat similar?
The board oppose the bill, yes?
Will they send a Rep on Saturday???
burghbhoy-add to that (ad nuseum) Craigy bhoy telling them to whistle for his 200k fine(how’s that coming along Regan?) and i’m sure Challs told them a couple of times he wouldn’t trap when summoned by the SFA/SPL
GlassTwoThirdsFull – a non-denial, denial – Woodward and BernsteinCSC
Burghbhoy – PL doesn’t want to rock the boat in case it jeopardises his chance of joining the huns’ record breaking recruitment drive. Oh wait……….. (they’regoingbustagainCSC)
Usually the CEO or Chairman speak to the media after a Championship victory, normally in the MSM on the Monday. It’s along the lines of a state of the nation address. PL or the invisible Mr Bankier really need to connect with the support and answer our concerns.
Be visible, Be clear and Let us now your position and don’t forget: We Are Celtic!

Maybe I’m part of the problem.
My love for the hoops means I will always be blindly faithful.
I will always whilst I can afford it buy my ST and official club merchandise.
The board know that and count on this from all of us.
I just wish PL would call a press conference and tell everyone how the land lies.
I like big Peter and think he’s doing a great job.
However, for some strange reason we are silent on these matters.
NOW is the time to unload the salvo.
“I don’t deal in conspiracy, I deal in fact and honesty” – David Longmuir.
That’s the type of statement which people who do deal in fact and honesty never really need to make.
Like McCoist’s favourite, “To be perfectly honest with you,” it merely emphasises the speaker’s brazen and shameless dishonesty.
Will the FOCUS Unit’s countless photos and videos end up at CP,to possibly force banning orders on various “targets”?
Arrangements for the Fans against Criminalisation Rally on Saturday in George Square are moving towards completion. Assemble at 12 and the speakers will begin at 12.30. The Rally will be introduced by a FAC representative and confirmed speakers are Michael McMahon MSP and Jeanette Findlay, FAC. We hope to have a legal/civil rights speaker but that is still to be finalised. We have discussed the arrangements for the use of the Square with Glasgow City Council (including the speakers’ platform and a sound system) and discussions continue regarding the movement of fans from George Square to Celtic Park afterwards. (Celtic Trust)
Be nice to see someone from the Board at this event to show solidarity with the fans.
