CHASE IS ON FOR £3.5m FORGOTTEN CELT

LUIS PALMA is heading out of Celtic with Greek side PAOK joining the chase for the Honduran international winger.

The 25-year-old wide Bhoy joined from Aris Thessaloniki in the summer of 2023 and made an impact with 10 goals and 10 assists in his debut season.

However, his first-team appearances have been few and far between this time out with only two starts in his 11 outings.

Ironically, Palma was bought to fill the gap left by Filipe Jota’s £25million departure to Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad.

ON THE MOVE…Luis Palma skips past the challenge of Dundee defender Ryan Astley in the recent 3-3 draw at Dens Park.

The former fans’ favourite should see his remarkable return to Parkhead rubberstamped today as he seals the double deal that will see Kyogo Furuhashi move in the other direction to struggling French side Rennes.

Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano appeared favourites to land Palma in a loan-to-buy deal earlier this month, but their interest has stalled which has opened the door for PAOK.

They have joined Super League rivals Olympiacos and Panathinaikos in the race for the flamboyant touchline ace while English Championship and MLS clubs are also monitoring the player’s situation, according to the Scottish Sun.

The rarely-seen Palma is likely to be involved in the matchday squad for Celtic’s final Champions League qualifier against Aston Villa in the Midlands on Wednesday.

Daizen Maeda’s late red card in last week’s 1-0 win over Switzerland’s Young Boys automatically rules him out of the encounter at Villa Park.

Palma will then get the green light to move on a temporary or permanent switch before Monday’s 11pm deadline
