Cheers, Magners

920

Sponsorship income is harder and harder to find so securing an improved shirt deal, while others flap to secure lesser deals, is a genuine result for the Celtic commercial team.  Irish cider maker, Magners, will have their name of the Celtic shirt for three years from this summer.

This will be the first time Celtic does not share the name on their shirts with another Scottish club since the 1990s, apart from a brief period during 2012, in the weeks between Rangers being assigned to liquidation and a successor coming into existence.

The significant amount of coverage outside Scotland as a result of this season’s Champions League qualification will no doubt have contributed to Magners’ decision, as will the reputation of Celtic fans to toast their Irish heritage in good nature.

Let’s hope club, fans and sponsor can work to make this a long and successful partnership.

  1. fergus slayed the blues on

So it looks like chuckles will be touring with the Ibrokes globetrotters next term touting his new club to any league that doesn’t do a credit check

    best of luck chuck

    hail hail

  2. Annan and Elgin not pleased at having to play Sevco every other week for yet another season.

  3. We better watch what we say, Bhoys… Jabba will be on the lookout for semi-literate bloggers who say not nice things about The Them.

I suppose I might be sad to see them go (!) the day we all shout “whoopee!” When Celtic vote in favour…

    Hail Hail!

  4. Sorry i can’t share in the joy over magners – alcohol sponsorship on Celtic tops? Not for me.

I understand Celtic have to raise revenue but to advertise one of the causes of social ills in Scotland on our hoops? Like the previous two beers i can’t condone it.

  5. Bhoylo83

    That Desperados sounds ineresting.

I’m a big fan of the ole Mexican beer.

Corona is the tops, Bohemia good….etc

But tried Modelo for the first time recently and didnae like it at all.

    Magners is surely better.

And us Hoops do deserve better so to speak :0)

swan down to mine and we’ll have some Magners to celebrate if you fancy

  7. I’m not a good-looking man at all, indeed, I’ve got ginger (receding and thinning) hair, horrible teeth, milk-bottle specs, severe halitosis, honking oxters, a humph, no pals, and a house in Castlemilk.

I often wondered why people call me Lucky, then I realise, it’s ‘cos I’m a Tim.

    Nothing else matters!

Dontcha just love days like this?

    Hail Hail.

Would if I could. I am snowed under with that bl&!;y marking… Canny get it finished. But We could celebrate soon… ;)

    Hail Hail!

Desperados are expensive not everywhere does them wat i will say is they are over 5% volume so go easy on them

    B-)

  10. So the day that the Club flying the Flag for Scottish Football…you know who I mean, thems that are Champions, in the last 16 of the UCL, still competing in four competitions, somebody goes and throws the rattle out of the Pram…1, 2 3…Aaaaah!

That is exactly what happened today, the straw that broke the Camel’s back. It is nothing to do with reconstruction. No my Celtic Family, it is all about two things:

The first is the fact that Chuck cannot raise the money from Investors, they are skint.

The second is the resurgence of CFC 1888 achieving great things on and off the field.

You will never keep everybody happy. There are those that called for an end to joint sponsorship with a dead club who wants to quit Scotland. For the record they cannot quit as they are no longer. There are those who are not Supporters of PL. However, you have to agree under the stewardship of PL, the Board and NFL they have assisted greatly in preserving our 125 years history. I am confident we will last not just another 16 years to overtake deadco but a lot more years than you can dream of.

    Credit where credit is due.

I am proud to be part of a Club that is carrying the Flag for Scottish Football. I will leave you with this that I got from Blantyretim:

More distance from Deadybears…feels like we are Leagues apart now…wait a minute…(hahaha)

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

Chucky Green is looking to buy a Submarine so that he can enter Sevco into one of the 20,000 leagues under the sea.

  13. Hey, what’s the chances of that? Bought myself some Magner’s on the way home tonight, in order to celebrate, and the Boss chose Desperados!

    Do I win a prize?

  14. The Moon Bhoys on

Wasn’t to sure about the reconstruction plan to begin with but now that them have come out against it I’m all for it, and if they plan on leaving us the best place for them to go would be Norn Iron, think of the world records they could break there, the more the merrier, go now and make it quick.

MAGNERS involved in Rugby too?? We ll all get free tickets.. Maybe a speedy 17stone winger on a loan till season end?

This is a giving day .. As said earlier -no MSM asking any negative sevco facts eg

pointing out the temp Sevco licence at start of season was seriously improper or

    mentioning the creditors

YET chuckles yaps away like an annoying wee dug jumping up trying to get noticed..

MAGNERS Rugby connection too, I recall Minty sponsoring Rugby with his imaginary money.. So this ll stick in his craw too…

MEANWHILE The MSM, SNYDE and Shortie see, hear and speak no evil of Sevco … Only in Scotland..

Away for a wee lie doon now..

    Apples….you gotta love them!!

  16. While i am not delighted with the deal i am amused. Another poster pointed out that many of magners apples come from armagh.

The area around Dan Winters cottage, birthplace of the orange order, is one of the foremost apple growing areas.

Is that irony or just funny? Or just me?

  20. I am taking the wailing noises from Ibrox at face value.

They hurt, they are in trouble, the tribute band may fold as well.

All down to money, them no having very much in the medium term.

But what we really need to pep us up is another secret Craig Whyte recording.

He’s been a bit quiet lately.

I look forward to hearing from him and his spy equipment.

    It’s all good.

  21. Does anyone know if Jim McGuinness is with the players on the trip to Spain hope he is i think it would be a good chance for him to work closely with the first team squad over an extended period.
