Christie and managing your assets

373

Surely Ryan Christie deserves a season at Celtic to show what he can do?  It was a sound enough idea to buy him and immediately loan him back to Inverness.  He has flourished at Aberdeen, but with only 10 Celtic appearances in what will be three years since joining the club, he has not been given a platform to show what he has.

I get that competition is great for the creative mid spots at Celtic, but our plan should be to develop players into first team regulars, or enhance their value and sell them profitably.  Ryan is doing well enough at Aberdeen to attract interest from the Football League, but with a few medals and perhaps Champions League experience under his belt, he would be a more valuable asset.

Celtic players are worth more than Aberdeen players, just as Manchester City and PSG players are worth more than Celtic’s.  Bring Ryan in for next season, make a decision on his future, or work to enhance his value to the club.

  5. Ryan Christie is a PLAYER I’d like to see PLAY for us and be given a proper chance to stake his place.

He ripped us a new one in one half for ICT. I’d back him to do the same against this season’s defence.

Evidence of the hate element is not a requirement. You do not need to personally perceive the incident to be hate related. It would be enough if another person, a witness or even a police officer thought that the incident was hate related.

The £7 charge is a disgrace. There is no justification whatsoever for it.

I posted a CL ticket to my nephew in Bavaria for the BMG game last season.

It cost £6 and that was for recorded delivery AND tracked. The ticket for the Sevco game is neither. It’s just pushed through your letterbox.

I think the emblem is actually a four leaf clover ( I know you didn`t say it was a shamrock) so maybe one leg falling off the chair would just leave us a bit rocky. For some/many fans , the fallen leg is The Board.

Not often that you and I agree pal, but it is happening more frequently (one of us should be worried) … and we certainly agree on that statement.

My problem is that, based on what I see as the Board’s contemptuous attitude towards the fans, the Board seem to think they are the Club.

The lack of communication by the Board to the fans concerning the events of the last 7 years has been shocking. And this is from someone who sits on Boards, and is counsel to others.

Unfortunately, for many of us, our investments in Celtic shares were emotional, as opposed to financial investments, , so we let the Board away with things that we would not if we were treating this as a business.

I half expect PL and the rest of them to show up at the next AGM wearing Louis XIV wigs, shouting ‘l’etat, c’st moi”

  19. Tuesday night was a fitful, restless night. Stressed by being snowed under with work I eventually got up at 3am and made a list of things I must do when I get up ‘for real’ on Wednesday morning. Priority tasks, each with a timescale, tapped into the notes app on my phone. It would need coffee, the kids off to school sharpish, turn the phone off, get the head down and a real push to keep to the schedule. Then maybe I would get some relief from the stress and even sleep.

Happy with my list I fell asleep around 4.45am.

7.15am The am alarm was met with more vigour than I had anticipated, my list was going to save my sanity.

8.30am Kids successfully out to school

    8.45am, washed, shaved and showered.

8.50am Coffee in hand, at my desk, I set about it

9.10am Amazed that I’d cleared task one, an email with attachments and instructions, five minutes ahead of schedule.

Then I remembered the phone, it always starts about 9.30am, calls destroy your work rhythm and usually add more tasks to the work in progress. So I grabbed the phone, unlocked it and a wee preview pane ops up from whatsapp. From my brother, Just enough to read the first line. “you going for huns tick….”

9.15am Slip road onto M74, hands free connected, seeking Season Ticket codes from brother and dad.

9.40am Ticket office, queued to the portakabin door

10.15am Tickets in hand, informed the guys of the success, happy days, it’s only work, mon the Celtic!!!!

  23. Would happily have christie over amstrong tbh

Boyata rejecting contract is like a new signing.

If we get short of ES, gamboa, lustig and bitton we will be no worse off. Same goes for jozo, amstrong and hayes.

We wont miss roberts cause he has not played this season.

Dembele will be a miss but bit stop start this season, due to injuries.

Would miss rogic for 4 months of the season.

if that lot go we will pocket a smaller fortune. Dont know that reinvested it all in first team is necessery. Maybe half.

A hotel, cafe, museum and superstore is not as exciting as a fancy named player but that is what the board should prioritise.

Dont always agree with the board and we would all like supporters running the club. However supporters tend to be very short sited, like me.

Celtic cant standstill off the pitch so balance is key.

We may not go always get c/l group stage income to keep us ahead of the domestic pack. So we need the off field growth to push forward.

Oh and i need somewhat comfortable to go before and/or after games.
