Christie can determine his price

Hampden Park has been the venue for sixteen consecutive wins in cup semis and finals for the Celtic  players ahead of the Scotland Euro 2020 game against Czech Republic there this afternoon.  I know for sure you have memories of great goals at the national stadium by Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Ryan Christie.  Each of them rise to the big occasion.

There is a good chance David Turnbull and Jack Hendry will be involved, as well as former players: David Marshall, Kieran Tierney and Stuart Armstrong, with former Celtic youth Andy Robertson sure to start.  Greg Taylor is with the squad but unlikely to force his way past Tierney and Robertson.

International football is not the same: we are conditioned for disappointment and an early exit, but this generation of Celtic players deserve to compete on the international stage.  In particular, I hope Ryan Christie shines.  He is on his way out the door, all that is to be determined is the price.

Weakness on the right for the whole game – Czechs only have to negate Robertson – poor focus and dreadful first touch across the whole team

Quad…at this rate Celtic will have to pay another team to take him ;-))

    H.H.

  3. Ryan was no worse than most – tactical change or as we call it putting someone on in their right position

    0-2

  4. I’m glad rumours of O’Donnell to us seem to be unfounded – he’s been really poor today! Blocked off Christie, too slow to close down the corner and just a bit slow all round!

And there’s why we shouldn’t be too upset that Hendry is going…

It was a great 40 minutes back in the tournaments…

Oooft…..Shop Window Christie taken out the, er, shop window.

Clarke obviously less tolerant than Lennon and Kennedy.

I’ve said it before, Aberdeen’s his level and he’ll be doing well to get a gig in the English Championship.

Scotland could be in for a hiding here if they’re not careful.

Shocking from Hendry. Easy pass on and thinks he’s Maradona and gives the ball away then 0-2.

  7. Tierney has been a huge miss – the Czech midfield is comfortable going man for man against ours, Robertson is being doubled up on down the left and we’ve nothing on the right. Tierney’ said breaking runs would have made it more uncomfortable for the Czechs

  8. Marshall had been really impressive up until that moment, has made 4-5 decent saves.

Loud enough for you to respond with a familiar woe is me, Sevco are champs scenario.

One supporter’s turmoil is another’s new era, fate wasn’t kind during this endemic and Celtic’s domination was closing before Neil Lennon took over IMO.

The new era began when we signed Liam Shaw from Sheffield, cashed out on Jeremie Frimpong, El Hamed, Patryk Klimala, and loaned away Olivier Ntcham. With the window now open the infamous wantaways who tempted fate last season, will get their wish and Celtic with new characters in charge, will kick on. The one season thing, isn’t much we’re told here daily how devalued the two horse race is, and nine in a row in no big deal even when you’ve did it twice legitimately and without cheating.

I’ve no doubt they love Steven Gerrard, he’s an irrelevence and Neil Lennon and Calum Davidson took most of his CV silverware. Their ‘easy passage’ to the CL is where there’s every chance they’ll screw up like they did in ties, with St Mirren or St Johnstone.

  10. You’ve got to hand it to Scotland, if you take technical nous, skill, common sense and the emotional angle out of it, they’re actually a good laugh to watch.

Not to worry…we’ve still to play England and Croatia…so we can still qualify from this group ;-))
