Christie reward, don’t make eye contact

Brendan Rodgers would be happy to have given pretty much his entire first team squad a run-out yesterday. I’d expect a similar usage of the squad in Ljubljana on Wednesday but Saturday’s game against Maribor.

There’s seldom anything more than fitness to take from these games but when a young player scored what proves to be a winner, it’s likely to matter more. Ryan Christie looked stressed at the end of last season when five Celtic players scored before he – when playing as striker – got on the scoresheet. Yesterday’s win against Sturm Graz will count for Ryan.

So Bayer Leverkusen are after Efe Ambrose. Not surprised at that one. Surprise isn’t an appropriate word, not at all. Everyone just look at your shoes, don’t make eye contact, poker faces, please.

You’re probably aware of a particular book a few years back which exposed collusion in the case. I had a link to it but lost it when I changed the battery on my phone.

It was banned over here, and much of elsewhere. The CQNer in question isn’t the author, but has a close interest in it regardless.

He might elucidate further himself, but he’s a rare visitor these days.

(So I mailed him about it!)

We can always remove a bit of fluff. Any idea how to remove a pile of asbestos?

    Or paint rust?

I think Dave will have to set aside a tad of the warchest to take care of it. £2m should see it through. And he`s probably made that in interest from the 30m that`s been sitting in the account for over a year now, waiting until ra jers were `back` in the top flight so it could be spent wisely on new young exciting talent. Just like the team running scared and buying Dembele type players to try and hang on to the 55ers coat tails.

As you can see, I won`t be needing any medication for a few hours., I get a big dose at noon.

    Nice one,bud.

  7. Received my copy of In the Kingdom of Govania at 11.15 today. Started reading and could not put it down till the very last page. If you want to be entertained in a hilarious way about things that transpired in Govania do get a copy.

Well done to the authors and artists involved..

  8. I attended the Supporters Direct Scotland Conference at Hampden in January this year. It was a good and informative day and interesting to hear others take on the game in Scotland.

During the day there was a presentation by the Swansea Supporters Trust – a story that is truly inspiring and a blueprint for any fan group – and the floor was opened for questions afterwards. Rangers First asked the following question

“When the Swans Trust loaned the club money in 1993, did they have security and a guarantee how and when they would get the money back?” (I’m paraphrasing here, it was months ago and I canny remember last night…)

There was audible gasps in the room and some sniggering. At that point news had broken about the potential of the £500,000 loan of supporters money. So, here was a fans org, with hundreds of thousands of pounds of collected money asking a question that they really shouldnt have been asking. I wondered then about the whole thing.

Then, when the all the fans orgs came under the collective of Club 1872 (sic), there was some discussion out side the Kerrydale Bar if this was the way forward for all fans orgs. I said at the time that this was a divide and conquer tactic with the offer of power to those who favoured King. The offer of a blazer, brogues and a sup of the loving cup is too much for some not to be swayed.

If I was a member of any of the orgs I would be asking for them to get out of Club 1872(sic) and I wouldn’t be giving them any money whatsoever. Hundreds of thousands of pounds sitting there doing nothing and the board of r*ngers and making flirty eyes at it.
