Christie reward, don’t make eye contact

467

Brendan Rodgers would be happy to have given pretty much his entire first team squad a run-out yesterday. I’d expect a similar usage of the squad in Ljubljana on Wednesday but Saturday’s game against Maribor.

There’s seldom anything more than fitness to take from these games but when a young player scored what proves to be a winner, it’s likely to matter more. Ryan Christie looked stressed at the end of last season when five Celtic players scored before he – when playing as striker – got on the scoresheet. Yesterday’s win against Sturm Graz will count for Ryan.

So Bayer Leverkusen are after Efe Ambrose. Not surprised at that one. Surprise isn’t an appropriate word, not at all. Everyone just look at your shoes, don’t make eye contact, poker faces, please.

    Bobby.

You have to stop seeing politics through the prism of your own preferences.

How did the people vote ?

Do you accept their verdict ?

Are you suggesting that the people were too stupid to make a reasonable assessment ?

    Surely not.

B.T.W. It would appear that you have Blair onside.

That would be a huge insult to them.

    Smacks of elitism.

    Macjay,

One of the reasons that the Brexit side won in some many Labour heartlands was, in my view, all that was offered was REMAIN.

Remain with Frankfurt and London imposed austerity, zero hour contracts, no job, falling education standards. housing problems, crime, immigrants competing for jobs and services?

Who’d want to Remain in that. No vision, more of the same.

Your side has now got to start delivering on all of the promises about the NHS, investment, immigration, Brits in Europe etc.

Or maybe it won’t be delivered, that’ll probably be the Europeans fault or the immigrants anything but London’s.

Very harsh on Efe today, did Paul67 write the leader?

The boy is an athlete and he can defend (as he sometimes does for us, and often does for Nigeria).

I think it’s unfair to put his loss of form at Ronny Deila’s door. The sainted Neil Lennon should never have played him in the home tie against Juventus within 24 hours of Ambrose getting back from the Africa Cup of Nations, whether Efe declared himself fit or not. Poor, poor management, and after his howlers that night Efe’s never been the same player since.

He needs self-confidence and he needs support, which for him at least has been sadly and shamefully missing from the terraces this past season.

    Just my opinion, of course!

There’s no beginning to your erudition, is there?

Mosley started off as a Tory, switched to the ILP (in part because of his disgust at the behaviour of the Black and Tans) and eventually became a Fascist.

To describe him as a socialist is like calling Judas a Celtic supporter.

What has Brexit got to do with Celtic?

( other than increasing cost of players)

    .. Just asking?

  11. MACJAY1 FOR NEIL LENNON on 4TH JULY 2016 11:57 AM

The British people were led to believe, by the Leave campaign, that Brexit would ensure an end to migration from the EU. We were also told that leaving the EU would ensure that an additional £300 million would be spent on the NHS.

I appreciate that, living in Australia as you do, you would not be aware of these facts, nor would you appreciate how such lies might have encouraged people to vote in a particular way.

Brexit politicians did not set out to dupe anyone. They set out to tell whatever lies were appropriate for their cause.

And in the case of the lead politician behind it,he penned an article for his weekly column in The Telegraph to outline why he was lining up behind the Leave campaign.

He also penned one outlining why he supported Remain.

All of them have either jumped ship like the rats they are,or been jettisoned against their will.
