Christie reward, don’t make eye contact

467

Brendan Rodgers would be happy to have given pretty much his entire first team squad a run-out yesterday. I’d expect a similar usage of the squad in Ljubljana on Wednesday but Saturday’s game against Maribor.

There’s seldom anything more than fitness to take from these games but when a young player scored what proves to be a winner, it’s likely to matter more. Ryan Christie looked stressed at the end of last season when five Celtic players scored before he – when playing as striker – got on the scoresheet. Yesterday’s win against Sturm Graz will count for Ryan.

So Bayer Leverkusen are after Efe Ambrose. Not surprised at that one. Surprise isn’t an appropriate word, not at all. Everyone just look at your shoes, don’t make eye contact, poker faces, please.

  4. If Efe goes i wish him the best.

He was somewhere between the legend and reality.

A fairly good player who bared the brunt of the teams fragility.

The weak mindset of the team in the last few seasons gave rise to a very nervous support who were quick to vocalise.

And Efe was the target due to some lapses in an area of the field that is unforgiving.

A good athlete who may thrive in different conditions.

Europe has split the Tory party ever since the 1980s. Cameron thought he could lance the boil with a plebiscite. It was his get-out-of-jail card!

Most of the arguments on both sides were highly technical and very, very complex.

But one argument wasn’t and that was immigration – the Brexit ace in the hole.

This EU referendum should never have seen the light of day. We send people to parliament to take

decisions on our behalf. It’s called representative democracy.

  8. Ha ha ha ha.I really love these bastions of democracy on here.Beacons of light in the now political darkness we are in.I was called a racist, and a troll, for saying that large swathes of England were in turmoil due to imigration. Not imigration as such, but imigrants forming self made ghettos throughout the length and breadth of the country.Real fears from real people. Not some twats sitting 100 miles behind the front, spouting PC claptrap. This is what won the Brexit vote, not what the charlatans in charge of it were saying. And definitely not what the charlatans on the Remain side were saying. You know, the ones who let the people down time and time again with lies and unkept promises.

Liars ?.There were plenty on each side.

Never mind, when Scotland wins its independance, and we are in the EU,you will be happy.

Correct and if the electorate don’t like those decisions, they have the democratic right to remove those who made them.

Democracy is not perfect, but it is the best we have….unless someone can come up with a benign dictatorship…..like Tito.

Reading there the Magazine article on he player,Musa Mohammed. It states,

‘A Nigerian report insisted: “Those who moved Ambrose to Celtic from Israel now wish to take Musa to the same club.’

I hope the lad proves to be a player but if my memory serves me correctly, ‘ Efe Ambrose became the second player represented by Dahan into Celtic FC moving from SC Ashdod to Scotland.’

Hopefully Paul67 is correct when he stated last week,

“I suspect this signing marks a breakout from the previous range of agents and contacts (which appeared increasingly limited to someone in Manchester and an Israeli agent).”

  11. TURKEYBHOY on 4TH JULY 2016 3:56 PM

Why would fear of immigration have won the Brexit vote?

Was it because the leaders of the Brexit side said that leaving the EU would end immigration from the EU?

Tito – a Croat leader of Serbs – kept the Soviets out of Yugoslavia and he kept Yugoslavia together. Or rather, his secret police did. When he died the game was up.

I have been away for a few weeks and during that time England have been knocked out the Euros and the UK have posted notice that they want to withdraw from the common market. The Tories are looking for a new leader and the country require a new prime minister Labour are in turmoil and cannot represent themselves never mind the country and Nigel Farage has quit while over at Top Gear the squeaky voiced Chris Evans has quit. At Celtic we appear to be little changed with the Champions league qualifyers just around the corner and we are playing a young untried midfielder at centre back it seems the more things change the more they stay the same well at Celtic that is. H.H.

  15. For a Celtic football blog we sure have an above average- imo- amount of political posts. surely there must be a blog where the politicos can go and argue until their hearts are content. Will it ever catch on? doubt it. H H Hebcelt

If bad decisions are made it doesn’t brand you for life as a scoundrel

If good decisions are made it doesn’t elevate you for life to the sainthood

It’s the balance of the wise and the unwise actions that paints the individual

Would like to see some steel brought into our midfield . Our young kids IMHO could do with an enforcer to counteract the certain aggression they will face , all encouraged by the MIBS eyesight .

He will leave a Tim, and someone we all knew to be a gentleman, who always had time for the fans.

He never recovered from Lenny’s error in judgement in throwing him in at center back literally the minute he stepped off the plane from Africa. The heat he took from then on out meant he always had a mistake in his consciousness. And that just leads to, well, more howlers.

A fresh start is what he needs. Let’s hope he is not doing any somersaults playing in Europe versus the Tic anytime soon.

  23. It would be naive to think that politics would not feature on the blog – individuals hold strong views and beliefs and will of course use this platform to express them. Celtic were founded as a vehicle to support the relief of poverty which could be said to be both a social and political act.

However the same posters regurgitate the same arguments ad nausea which can quickly descend into personal name calling and worse.

  26. Sometimes I think people who post on this blog really are on the wind up.Efe surely has no future at Celtic if we want to progress.Over the last two seasons his presence on the park visibly affected the rest of the team in a very negative way.To say he gave his all.His concentration levels so necessary for a modern day professional were very poor.I think The constant indulgence of Efe was one reason Ronnie lost his job.Anyway can’t wait to the new season.Hail Hail
