Christie transfer breaking all Celtic moulds

538

Celtic’s £500k signing on Inverness attacking midfield player, Ryan Christie (20) is unlike any I have known. The player will remain on loan at Inverness for the rest of the season, a nod to the fact that the Highlanders have been good for his development and first team opportunities would be more limited at Celtic.

He’s a talented player who fits the criteria and we have the money available to bring him in. There’s something of a crop around the same age being acquired. More on this at a later date.

Welcome to Celtic, Ryan.

  1. I was a massive Ronny fan.

Had a few misgivings last season.

Watched with concern at the transfer dealings.

Boyata – lots of rough edges and no experience.

    Janko – as above

    Blackett – as above

Allan – decent player but no more than that.

    Christie – raw potential.

    Ciftci – bizarre.

Simunovic – more bizarre. Based on all accounts from Zagreb and the footage I have seen, this boy is massively over priced.

We have only 2 (arguably) natural defensive midfielders.

We have 2 SPL strikers but neither look able to play at a higher level IMO.

Our defence is so inexperienced it is a absolute joke.

It’s 7.45 on the day that may define our season and where is our figurehead and leader? On holiday by all accounts!!!!

We have a game coming up at Pittodrie, anyone want to hazard a guess at the team for that?

I’m bewildered at what is happening

  2. Oh and Michu would be the best joke yet.

Overpriced, on loan, injury prone and a known trouble maker who Swansea are desperate to offload.

we are now a feeder club for southampton fc

    van dijk, wanyama, boruc

we have really fallen down the food chain as a club

    —————————————————————————————————————————–

I’m not sure I’d include the Holy Goalie as he joined them from Fiorentina. You did however forget Fraser Forster.

The Sky money is totally killing the professional game and my interest in it is fast diminishing. I could just about stomach the likes of Man. Utd and Liverpool in their day taking our best players off us but no-mark clubs like Southampton is just too much to bear. Sumdy please wake me up when sanity returns to the game.

Ronny cant be to worried if he is away for a few days in the sun. JC will be holding the fort however as it stands at the moment our team against Aberdeen is going to be interesting.H.H.

Something doesn’t quite add up here.

All that money since 2010….63 million?….plus all the money squandered on substandard players.

    Shocking way to run Celtic.

And yet….we still get treated as though we are fecking idiots….biggest spend in 14 years etc.

    What a load of pish.

The transfer window thus far has been an utter disaster for us

We had a top class CB pairing …we now have a hole you could drive a bus thro

No improvement at striker ..Ciftci is gash

A lot of work to do in the next four hours …no ..we tried really hard excuses …plug the gaps get much needed players in ……

  15. If people on here are happy to be distracted by the Charles Green episode whilst some celebrate the signings of Allan, Christie and a Croat whose own fans dismiss as a dud (oh and I’m sure the transfer fee is fabricated) I’m afraid I look at the situation as a shambles.

Would Fergus allow his manager to go on holiday?

Far too many have grown far too complacent.

Aberdeen are up for taking us on. Aberdeen! But then, who should they fear?

Griffiths scored goals last season but so did Rooney.

We bought Allan, GMS and Armstrong, they bought Shinnie and McLean.

    The gap is getting smaller.

Sevco? They don’t fear us either.

.@ScottishFA You approved Whyte and Green. Both arrested tonight. Both nearly destroyed Rangers. Tell us how comprehensive is your diligence

Just “nearly” destroyed rangers? Hmmmm. Whyte made a pretty good job of destroying the original as I recall and Green has made a decent fist of hamstringing the tribute act.

  17. Joe Filippis Haircut

Virgil is of course the most obvious one but I’d ad Matthews, Henderson & Scepovic to the list. Selling Matthews weakened us for the qualifiers, Henderson should be developing in our first team & if Griffiths picks up an injury all we are left with is Ciftci.

We surely have to sign some players in the next few hours.

    Chairbhoy

Yes I understood what you were getting at but thanks for clarifying. :)

Henderson I would have preferred to have kept at the club and depending on the next few hours Scepovic may well be another. What you laid out though is entirely correct and to answer your question then no we haven’t.

I would suggest that this window has already been a failure as we should have been more proactive earlier in the summer. Our failure to qualify for the Champions League is in no small part due to this inactivity.

We now only have a few hours left to bring in the players to fill the positions you outline but unfortunately like you I am not holding my either.

I sincerely hope we are both proved wrong.

    HH!

Is it Efe and Boyata for CB at present …. With ole dreadnought Mulgrew as cover..we’ve loan out OConnell …or is Bkackett getting played out of position

  19. One of the most fun things that ever happened to me was standing on the apron at Heathrow airport the day Concorde took off for her last flight. I can honestly say I heard less whining that day from those huge engines than there is on here today.

Good servant, class player, with the potential to get better.

Sad to see him leave, but we all knew that was the plan the moment he signed.
