CIFTCI PRAISED BY POLISH BOSS

ON-LOAN Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci admitted he enjoyed his late appearance for Polish outfit Pogon Szczecin in the 1-1 draw against Cracovia at the weekend

The Turkish international hadn’t started a game for the Hoops this season and Brendan Rodgers agreed a loan move until the end of the campaign.

Ciftci, who cost ex-boss Ronny Deila £1.5million from Dundee United in July 2015, came on for the last 19 minutes of a hard-fought stalemate.
The 25 -year-old frontman said: “I haven’t played much football this season at all, so it was good to get a run-out even as a sub.

“Already, I can see this team has quality and I hope I can play my part.

“I am ready to play – of course I am – I want to try to play as often as I can.”

Pogon boss Kazimierz Moskal said: “Nadir has only been with us for a very short period of time, but already we can see his potential.

“We need to assess him for his match fitness.

“But he’s proved he’s got great skill and he will be an important player for us.”

Ciftci spent the second half of last season with Turkish side Eskiseherispor before returning to Parkhead in the summer.
