CIFTCI’S MISERY, MULGREW FREE FOR FRANCE?

NADIR CIFTCI’S season from hell is continuing during his loan spell in Turkey.
The striker, who signed for Celtic from Dundee United for £1.5million in July, lasted only 34 minutes before being hauled off on his debut for Eskisehirspor.
Ciftci, who agreed a temporary move until the end of the season, wasn’t injured, but was still replaced by fellow-loanee Vladislav Kulac in the 1-1 draw with Rizespor.
His new club are anchored at the foot of the Superliga and the misfiring marksman will be hoping for better luck – if he plays – against Antalyspor on Sunday.
Ciftci has netted a mere four goals in 22 appearances for the Hoops since joining from Tannadice.
In other football news today, Scotland are set to play France in an end of season friendly.
GORDON STRACHAN missed out on guiding Scotland to a place in Euro 2016 Finals.

But the international boss will still be taking his team to France this summer.

The host nation have agreed to play the Scots in a friendly encounter in Metz on Saturday June 4 .

Didier Deschamps’ team will also face Cameroon in Nantes on Monday May 30 ahead of Euro 2016, which will take place from June 10-July 10.

France have been drawn in Group A alongside Albania, Romania and Switzerland.

Their next match is a friendly against Holland, who also failed to qualify for the tournament, in Amsterdam on March 25.

With Celtic’s grueling schedule and with European qualifiers in July, surely Celtic’s Scotland players will be excused from this friendly?
Maybe Charlie Mulgrew should attend, having missed the vast majority of the season through injury?
