STEVE CLARKE sensationally quit as Scotland boss this morning – only minutes after the team had been officially eliminated from the World Cup.
The 62-year-old international gaffer resigned as the Scots failed yet again to get through to the next stage of the game’s most prestigious competition.
The announcement was made 30 minutes after midnight on the SFA’s official social media site.
Scotland had gone to the USA with high hopes of making history and got off to a winning start with a 1-0 victory over Haiti in Boston in their opening Group C match.
