Although I believe it was the rain which caused the cancellation of today’s game it was the storm which caused me most concern. Football should not be played when a storm strong enough to cause structural damage is expected. Any building can be affected by a storm. While there is a tiny chance that any football stadium will be damaged, the consequences of a roof part landing on a packed stand would be severe.
There should be a clear rule on this.
The Foundation Christmas Appeal bucket collection has been postponed for two weeks. This is a critical period for all of the agencies who were due to receive funds from this appeal, I know the Foundation are working with them in the interim period. Today’s attendance would probably have been low due to the conditions, so hopefully the delay will raise more money than we would have raised had today’s game gone ahead.

As I posted a tail end of previous article.
Ian Bell is worth a read in today’s Herald.
Mind you, it might make some Glasgow City councillors a wee bit uncomfortable.
Reading back it seems that there is some determination by some posters to turn this into a Celtic version of The Peoples Friend or Readers Digest. May I suggest if certain posters posts upset you that much,go back to swapping scraps or swapping your knitting patterns.
Anyway something else for you wee wifeys Christmas other than the Celtic onesie you were hoping to buy her and cuddle up to

And just to add to your point Paul, I’ve just read that the roof has been blown off Cineworld in Renfield Street, not seen any pictures yet mind you. The same rules should apply to other sectors, in particular retail and entertainment, where modern day architecture is on the light side.
Desmond Causes Celtic Postponement?
Well at least all the food made for Celtic park was not wasted, it was all sent out to the needy in many different places, well done Celtic.
William McIlvanney has died.
Great man. Rest in Peace.
Tony
Much as I admire celtics generosity I would not wish that menu onto the hungry and homeless ;)

Plenty food for thought there, Tony.
Celtic just being Celtic.
Sad to hear of William McIvanney’s passing. RIP.
Would it be expecting too much for the club to post a message on the web-site saying the game is off today?
Thought they had MNCelt. I’m sure I read it earlier.

The stuff in the boardroom was delicious, I had a lovely curry, washed down, with a nice cold lager, :))
Sorry to hear of Willie’s passing.
I knew his first wife well and met his daughter once who was a very bright girl.

Oddly enough, neither do Celtic.

Dundee United 1 down. Looking bleak for the Arabs, I really don’t want to see them relegated.

Maybe they should have tried keeping the high balls low.

It was second story in News, after a best wishes article for Tommy Gemmel, who has undergone a hip operation at Forth Valley hospital.
My best goes to Tommy too.
RIP William McIlvanney
The game postponement was on the website @ around 9:50

Great Post.
I posted that on here one night during the ‘Moderators’ period.
It was removed by one of the moderators.
One with no sense of humour obviously.

I must admit the steak pie did look lovely, I had a lovely day apart from the score that is, and after the game my brother dropped me off at the Brazen, and at the end of the night my brogues where all pee splashes, it’s Discusting the people they let in there :))
Didn’t take long for the “Dons close in on Celtic” headlines to appear.
Wee souls.
50 shades of gree
Oh no it’s not the stuff the commoners eat in the NW stand, ohhhh noooo, it’s from a pot man, with roast potatoes and veg, it’s the real deal. Plate cutlery all the trimmings.
Checking back on the previous blog I saw many kind messages of support.
Now kindness is something we just cannot get enough of but it dwells in us all.
Sometimes it just takes a wee bit of unkindness to bring it out and spread it.
Even to those being unkind for a time. They have their reasons and in any case it’s not all that they are.
If happiness is an inside job, kindness is how it manifests itself.
Thanks folks. :)
The steak pies the punters get at CP, have never been near a coo.
Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open.
