Clear rule required on storms

770

Although I believe it was the rain which caused the cancellation of today’s game it was the storm which caused me most concern. Football should not be played when a storm strong enough to cause structural damage is expected. Any building can be affected by a storm. While there is a tiny chance that any football stadium will be damaged, the consequences of a roof part landing on a packed stand would be severe.

There should be a clear rule on this.

The Foundation Christmas Appeal bucket collection has been postponed for two weeks. This is a critical period for all of the agencies who were due to receive funds from this appeal, I know the Foundation are working with them in the interim period. Today’s attendance would probably have been low due to the conditions, so hopefully the delay will raise more money than we would have raised had today’s game gone ahead.

    THE_HUDDLE,

Apart from the obvious a visit to the fish market in the early hours of the morning is a Hamburg speciality. Apparently you can acquire almost anything there including a Thai wife which IMHO is almost as good as a sweetie wife and much better than a sweaty wife.

    ———–

Will I need to obtain a passport to bring the Thai wife back before I leave the UK or will the fish market sort one out??

My nomination for poster of the year is The Singing Detective – mainly because he has said feck all this year!

  3. The dwarves set off down the mine whistling away.

Suddenly an explosion blew the shaft apart and trapped them behind a wall of rubble.

Mine rescue arrived and tried to clear a way through.

They tunneled for hours and were set to give up hope when they heard a faint sound.

Quiet ending all machinery the listened and hears the faint call of

    “Rangers, Rangers, Rangers.”

A grimy rescuer turned round and said

That is the day we won the league. Jim Leishman was in charge of Dunfermline and they did have that banner we played them after the league was won.

Had to scroll back just to double check but there’s been 2 posts about Jose, hardly “full flow”.

Be interesting to see how Jose handles a team with our budget and poor league.

  9. The Huddle…When do you think the next time Porto will win the Uefa Cup then the Champions League in Succesive Seasons..Not Anytime Soon be my Guess…

    Thanks Aiden Bhoy

I always get the 2 games mixed up, .

I was in the Jungle for both games and distinctly remember singing “Leishman Leishman gees a wave Leishman Gees a wave” it took a while but the Legend came out and took a bow…

Was Jim Leishman in charge of Dundee in this game? I’m losing the plot, Im sure Dundee were relegated after that game but had a banner saying “We’ll be back PS Happy birthday CELTIC”

Don’t know who was in charge of Dundee.

However, it is a fair bet that whoever was in charge of the turnstiles stopped counting at 40,000.

No doubting he’s a great manager but you think if he managed Porto next season they’d win the CL or the Europa (in the next 5 years)? Times have changed money is the main factor now.

Jose in charge of Celtic would win the league, a cup, maybe another cup, and then struggle to get into the CL groups.

  14. What I like about Jose, is he confounds d’s the gobshites that tell us you can’t have an opinion unless you’ve played at a decent level :)

Didn’t watch the Chelski game but watched a very good Wolfsburg v BVB game with some cracking late drama. BVB ran out 2-1 winners makes it a bit more interesting.

As regards Jose, there is no doubting his credentials but call me old fashioned as I prefer to win games through honest endeavour and sportsmanship and not at all costs. A wee bit humble pie is good for the soul!

Having a look over the Celtic blogs. The support get fairly excited about all things John James. Has he actually wrote anything that’s been true. Between him and Phil I think most Celtic fans are going to be really disappointed.

The Centenary clincher was against Dundee, managed by Jocky Scott.

The Dunfermline fans unfurled a banner in the Rangers end with the legend “happy birthday Celtic”. We won the fixture 1-0, a week before the Scottish cup final victory.
