The opposition may be less-illustrious than Juventus. our last European opponents, but the importance of next month’s Champions League second qualifying round games against Cliftonville still got the pulse beating.
It is a good draw for Celtic, who are spared travel and associated challenges.
The first leg, at Celtic Park, will take place on 16 or 17 July with return in Belfast on 23 or 24 July. Don’t book travel until dates are confirmed.

Cheers Ernie. The way BBC Scotland reported it, it certainly sounded like a done deal.
FFS………Southampton? Or as I refer to them to the guys from our Southampton office, “relegation fodder”.
What badges? :-)

re the lack of 5 stars.
Sadly, it’s not so much a belated sense of dignity but simply the fact that this year was the anniversary of the sack of Barcelona (no, no, not that recent one). So, they wore the plain blue kit that terrorised Europe in ’72.
I thought the same as you earlier in the season – but then noticed that McOist and Co had the 5 stars on their rainjackets trackside (or should that be hedgeside?).
Next year will probably be a mixed bag too with the players wearing odd socks and anything that has been left lying around by Oldco.
Hail Hail
Stivs,
It is interesting
In hindsight, Bolivia was always going to be a mess… As in Africa, but for different reasons, it never had a chance
Danny’s story highlights the lunacy to which football supporters can be subjected to and why this god forsaken act must be revoked.
Really , Danny’s story must be highlighted .
This is not just applicable to Celtic fans but all football fans.
We really are the underclass.
Truly shocking state of affairs.

Was the Sevcovian too stupid to realise that Zebra’s quote is for two tickets?
Btw,
The programme currently on c4 is disgusting.

Macjay1 It’s 2am here and I have had to scroll forward quickly from your discussion with
ASMC re “Russian refugee” slaughters in which I obviously became interested. You handled the slights well, ignoring his Yalta/Yatla correction (which when later asked about by Murdo/ch? accused of nitpicking) and denied condoning the massacres only thinking the subject was who was mostly to blame.
The point you made was do we read to our own preferences? I do! Leftish, Natives against colonisers/invaders etc., I do try sometimes to read articles from the other side but rarely go to book lengths. TSD sometimes prods me this way.
My takings so far was ASMC : Britain culpable, yours (and mine) weekly compliant?
It’s not the first time but in Mountain men terminology “i like the way your stick floats” or naughticaly “the cut of you jib” (I think).
Sorry ASMC your later postings re having read on this subject for 3 months, are addicted, then have book in your car, read frequently always makes you want to puke, makes me want to ask, do you enjoy puking??
Then after all so far was about Britain’s involvement you ask “who was the most compassionate, Welsh,Scots,Irish or English- right out of the blue? Maybe!!
Do you have an agenda now as you state you were pro British?
I certainly don’t know enough on this subject or Tolstoy, who knows the truth of history, winners or losers, honest unbiased investigators is the best we can hope for! Similar to Scottish football?

Thanks for that. Its taken a while for the real situation to emerge from the fog but I am heartened to see the real reason for a 3 year exile emerging.
The SFA did nothing to clarify and with every passing day it is becoming more difficult to see where the SFA end and The Rangers begin.
Ok guys, early rise tomorrow, so signing off early. Night night Timland.

The whole corrupt episode is shocking in the extreme ….. Shows what we have been up against for all these years…….but we have prevailed, and proud to have done so….
Auldheid,
Zero interest in newco, Celtic shareholders were not cheated out of anything as a result of anything newco, really don’t care if they qualify for Europe they are insignificant and a distraction to the purpose of my point.
The SFA issued a license to a club who did not qualify to apply for or retain existing license and as a result the Celtic shareholders were denied income, I simply want to know what our representatives have done/intend to do about that.
I need to stay focused
As I said, I do not even want to involve Charlotte’s rumours, stick to the facts and call to account.

Just saw that. Just my luck!
I’ll be in Scotland for the game in Belfast and back home for the game in Scotland.
Hope they don’t change it.

Some interesting stats on Cliftonville, Celtic’s opponents in the Champions league.
The Setanta All- Ireland Cup which features the top sides from the North and South took place in Feb and March and the Belfast side was held to a 2-2 draw in Solitude and lost 4-0 to Cork City in the return down in Cork.
Sligo, Cork, Drogheda and Shamrock Rovers, all LOI sides contested the semi-finals won by Shamrock Rovers. Interesting to note that the LOI season did not commence until March.
67 heaven.
Just reading about it on here. Don’t know the reason or the details
hankray, Cliftonville sent their reserves down to play Cork City. They are not a bad team at all and try to play football as distinct from lumping it around. Having said that Celtic should account for them easily enough but as ever complacency is the worry.
Canalamar1
I did wonder why you touched on the subject. I must have misread your meaning.
Leave CF rumours to others and stay focussed on the 100 names and keep working on the draft.

In recent years the standard of the League Ireland (republic) has been much higher than the Irish League (occupied zone)
back in the 90’s it was the other way around, many players from the republic ended up in the North playing for such culturaly diverse teams as Linfield and Portadown (money was there)
The good ole Celtic tiger (remember him) helped reverse that trend and indeed many young players returned from lower English divisions because more money was available in the south.
The switch to summer football helped the republic teams get better results in europe most notably Shamrock Rovers getting to the group stages of the Europa League
So I can raise questions under the heading if resolution
2.7.2.1 Submitting resolutions to a PLC AGM
Independent shareholder resolutions
Where supporters feel that general questions at the AGM are likely to be ignored, it is possible for them to put their question on a more formal basis. This can be achieved by raising an independent resolution on a topic of particular interest for inclusion on the agenda of the football club AGM.

See where you are coming from ……it was olco who, through their corruption, denied Scottish Clubs millions, but would suggest the creditors will be first in the queue when BDO / Courts ‘get the finger out’ …… Don’t think any of the Clubs will get anything back until the guilty are exposed in the Courts..

You seem to be asking for the Board to compensate the minor shareholders from the Club’s income / revenues …. !!?? …. I dealt with legal compensation claims for many years and compensation is paid by the offender, to the offended… ,?
