Club-by-club consequence of closed door games

187

The club-by-club consequence if the league programme goes ahead behind closed doors:

Livingston will lose two home games, against Dundee and St Johnstone. Ross County will lose two, against Aberdeen and Motherwell.  Although financially, Livi are on the brink, I’m not convinced the net result of their or Ross County’s games being postponed will be particularly damaging to either club.

Hibs will lose a lucrative derby game against Hearts, lots of away ticket revenue and hospitality refunds on the line.  The same is true for Dundee, who have a derby game against United.  Both should want fixtures postponed.

Aberdeen would have to refund thousands of Newco fans, an expense they could well do without.  They would also have to refund some hundreds of Dundee fans.  They should also want fixtures postponed.

Hearts have St Johnstone, who take few fans, the only real cost here would be their (valuable) hospitality sales.  They also have the incentive of playing at an Empty Easter Road.  They are also Hearts…..  could go either way.

Dundee United have St Mirren, which is likely to be cancelled anyway, and Hibs.  Like Hearts, they have the incentive of playing away to a rival in an empty stadium.  Could go either way.

St Mirren today requested the postponement of tomorrow’s game against Celtic and Sunday’s game against Newco.  This request will be upheld, no matter what happens to the rest of the fixtures, but, surely, suffering as they are, they will support postponement?

Newco would be unaffected by Ms Sturgeon’s decision.  Celtic stand to lose two gates, against Hibs and Newco.  It would cost a substantial amount of money and affect the club more than any other.

Celtic’s request to postpone fixtures is unarguable, but we know how Scotland works; anything could happen.

Tony Blair wheeled out to hammer home the “you need 4 dozes of meds” bullshit extension.

    When will the penny drop?

JHB says “the hospitals are stuffed full of anti vacc folk” if this is true I’d like to know…

    1. Who gave JHB the authority to carry out these tests, how many tests, and how many hospitals did he test?

    2. If he didn’t have the authority to carry out these tests, then who’s bullshit is he repeating?

    3. Is he repeating the bullshit of the media, the medias carefully chosen scientists, doctors, celebrities who say what their told to say or they wouldn’t be celebrities? Any NHS, CDC, WHO, websites, or their subsidiary websites, who are all funded by the same Davos shareholders?

If JHB is repeating the bullshit of those listed, then in what context does that place everything else that he says?

And before he gets sneaky and posts a list of, mumps, measles, whooping cough, etc etc blah blah, details about how safe these vaccs are, but conveniently misses out that these other vaccs took decade to develop, in comparison to the embryonic tests carried on the c19 vacc, 1 year? Anyone who tries to pull off such a deceit is either, deceitful, knows that they’ve been mugged, or is a shareholder in any of these 100% lying machines that are listed above.

Just wake the fk up CSC

  2. Always great to see that great film of the Lisbon Lions. Nice touch adding a mention of Bertie on screen at the end acknowledging his passing. Bit of class there.

I believe 10 clubs in favour should be enough to carry it …….on paper.

However , will the fitba authorities dare to defy the one club they defer to on everything?

    I don’t mean Ross County.

  9. So Rangers and Ross Co are the only dissenters vs bringing the break forward .

An spfl board which has rangers Ross co Hibs plus 3 non execs plus airdrie Hamilton Dunfermline and Forfar will decide.

My sense is it will be down to one on the lower leagues voting properly and the chair doing the same. As Hibs plus the 3 non execs will be balanced by Ross co Rangers plus any other friendly lower league supporters.

  10. Clearly Airdrie and Hamilton will vote on the square. So it will be Dunfermline or Forfar who will have it within their gift to decide.

Interesting story, or rather fact, since we do not know yet the story of. Noticed that some Hibs fans had a similar flag on Sunday, but that might have derived from the flag that BP, I think, used a few years back in order to stress their green credentials. Though green has long been their colour of choice to be fair. Funny, was watching a Scottish Cup final classic from a few years back, 1980s probably, and there was a red white and blue union flag in front of the awarders, wouldn’t see that now. Do like the green and white saltire myself, but kinda got used to seeing all those white and green ones, up on the roof. Song in there somewhere…..

  16. The Governments yellow card website should be followed closely.

Nicola Sturgeon gave an “emergency” conference just the other day, during which she could have announced any of the new measures, but didn’t. What changed over the weekend? Well the Welsh put the boot into the rugby, Sadiq Khan, London’s virtue signaller in chief declared a ‘major incident’ and put the kaibosh on the Trafalgar Square New Years Eve (for NHS workers) bash, while Boris dithered…

FM wasn’t haven’t any of it, hence more grandstanding, nb before Christmas, not after it like Boris….

It’s the end of the world as we know it, ….. or maybe not, but it could be, in Nicola’s World.

500 fans? Make sure ye bring yer vaccine passports mind

Why not 1 in 6 @ each Ground? 1 in 4 given family would easily be safe.

Shocking decision and it disnae stand up to scrutiny.

NEGANON2, is right, its institutional bias.

Hi – thanks for the reply – much appreciated.

A break now would be best for us no doubt – could definitely be a league-influencing decision.

Can’t see how SPFL can insist on St Mirren game going ahead – seems very harsh on St M.

I have no doubt Sevco are manipulating things as much as they can.

Hopefully most Clubs see through them. This is Scotland howevaaaaa, a hotbed of secret societies. Every Boardroom included in that. How are Airdrie represented?

  24. Enjoyed some posts about the Lisbon Lions after reading back tonight. I am in no clique here and rarely post. I generally dont even pay much attention to monikers and to who posts what. I am still feeling the joy from Kyogos double on Sunday and like most people here feel disappointed that restrictions are coming into place again. It does amuse me how everyone is hijacking every statement or tweet and using it to support their political leanings. People are dying of Covid. The people who work in the NHS are working harder than ever before. I always think of my Celtic journey as being more than the result of a match at any given time, but as being the person that I am within the Celtic tradition. To me that means tolerance of everyones opinions and leanings. Some dialogue and understanding of each others points of view. Constantly banging a particular drum does not necessarily mean you will be heard. Still my favourite Celtic site. Lets hope that the new restrictions dont harm us in taking our title back.
