Cluj again make 11 changes

86

Cluj warmed up for their second trip to Celtic Park of the season with a comfortable 3-0 win over fourth placed Gaz Metan on Sunday.  That followed elimination from Cupa Romania on penalty kicks on Wednesday, although manager, Dan Petrescu made 11 changes for the Cup game from his usual league selection.

Petrescu also made 11 changes for the league game before facing Celtic last time.  The gamble paid off in Champions League qualifiers August but the Cluj side who won on Sunday will look a lot like the one we face on Thursday.  Making so many changes is brave and I like bravery, you need to take chances in football, but not necessarily in cup competitions.

The stats for their game against Gaz Metan are interesting, Gaz, despite losing heavily and being away from home to the champions, enjoyed 57% possession and had more attempts at goal.  This is a counter-attacking team.

Had to scrape car this mornin’………………

Just checked the SPFL table……..Huns still showing within fraudulent touching distance to the Champs thanks to bent, game-changin’ decision-making.

    Aye!

Now, that’s summit all of Scottish football should be angry about.

    In ither news………

    Richard *cough* Gough.

what’s the story with him.huns getting him back or is he main witness in court today.

  5. Gough does nothing for the huns without getting paid,I knew a guy who done fundraisers for Newco when they started out,a lot of ex players would help out free of charge, Gough had his hand out every time.

  6. I mentioned the issue certain parts of Scottish society pushing for closures of Catholic schools to an English colleague.

    His response was insightful.

There are Catholic schools where his family hails from (Southern England) and there is no problem with sectarianism. What they also don’t have is an Orange movement.

    How strange?!

  7. Gough.

I happened to inadvertently see his tv interview last night.

He talks like an absolute nugget.

He said “winning 9 in a row was harder than going for 10 in a row”.

    What does that even mean.
