So who we signing then? Lol.

Kent signed for Bristol so it’s not him. Tam McManus reckons we are competing with Rangers for a winger. Tend to think Tam is too close to an ex Rangers player who is feeding him and Mark Wilson etc this pants to make Rangers relevant.

Rangers turned down £10m for Morelos apparently. West Brom this time. Shouldn’t be too long before either they or Gerrard deny that.

Is there another club at our coefficient with the amount of cash we have? Is there another club with the ability we have now to move to another level?

A centre forward or a centre mid would make all the difference before the next round.

Bolingoli was mince. Sutton is correct. He is paid to comment. He has commented. Bolingoli-Mbombo is paid to be a footballer. Bolingoli-Mbombo was not performing last night!

Sutton takes some crap but I mostly agree with him.

  3. I wish KT the best of luck, all the success in the future and hopefully a move to a real big club in years to come. I thank him for his contribution to Celtic and the treble treble success.

The sort of financial reward he will receive is hard to turn down I imagine. Allied with the fact that he will no longer endure the same brutality supported by Mibery will be way to tempting.

    Assuming he passes his medical!

Now Boli, get your act together and rove all us doubters wrong.

How did Arsenal know the value of the KT alleged release clause???

    ———-

I would imagine Celtic or the players agent would have informed all potential buyers of the parameters for buying KT.

    HH.

  5. Already seeing a few conspiracy theories on here about the KT.

First of all, Neil Lennon hasn’t been “left short” for the Cluj tie or even the Slavia tie. KT was far from match fitness. I’ve seen videocelts peddle that old chestnut.

We had a player who wanted to leave and a club willing to break our record fee. This is the economic reality of football. We should be happy we got a good fee.

I’m more annoyed about losing Boyata for nothing considering we could have had 9 million 12 months earlier.

  6. The Battered Bunnet on

Kieran Tierney leaving for Arsenal with (another) record transfer fee is doubtless a blow to the team, and to the fans, but I wish him well.

I also wish his apparent replacement wakes up from his rhombic dodecahedral bad dream.

Very positive result last night, despite some pretty erratic defending. Thought Elhamed did well, and Broonie was exceptional (again), but Cluj are a good side and we’ll need our A-game at Celtic Park next week to progress.

The word Legend is overused these days.

When it comes to Celtic what constitutes a legend?

“An employee who excels at all they do and shows courage and loyalty above and beyond the call of duty”

Kieran most certainly fits part of the above statement but will never be spoken about alongside the likes of McGrory, Tully, Stein, McNeil, Johnstone, McGrain, Burns, Mcstay or Larsson surely…..

Maybe the days of legends are over?

  8. Onenight

I think Scott Brown will be seen as a Celtic Legend when he eventually retires

I know i will view him as such

  9. David17 @ 11.13

Bhoy to the right of him is the finance director at Celtic- he was my brother-in-laws apprentice when he first started working at an accountancy firm in Glasgow – he was awful at making tea and couldn’t open the biscuit tin!! As you can probably tell from the last comment, my BiL is a blue nose!

  10. Motorbike guy ( I know his real name but have forgotten his blog name !) used to give us his `Word of the Day`. He would have been hard pressed to beat TBB`s `rhombic dodecahedral `.

There are many sides to this Blog.

    Why did McGregor not travel?

I see what you did there!

    Harsh, but fair! And funny.

  12. Still happy……………….

but, I’ve a feelin’ that somewhere……………………………………………. in a world, far, far away……………a tiny outpost of unhinged, brutal, beery, bellicose celtica there’s a cracked green glass where if you peer at it darkly you’ll miss the best start to a season in recent memory……………..

  13. Interesting to compare Ajax fans’ reaction when their top young talents leave for mega bucks to our own.

Crowds turn up to cheer them off. They recognise their place in the financial food chain.

We seemingly don’t. We think Celtic is unique. And as an old fitba romantic, I kinda like that.

Brandon Barker signing for Rangers apparently. If that’s who we were competing with then for then I’m thankful.

I will be surprised if we get through the day without a bid or bids for players other than Sinclair

  15. I’ve not said anything about Kieran’s inevitable move to Arsenal despite being privy to some insightful information from a dear friend that I respect and believe. That’s where I will leave it.

On Kieran himself I wish him good luck for the future. He is most certainly a Bhoy and will continue to be for the rest of his life. He achieved everything domestically with his team.

On moves to bring in a recognised LB, I hear that subject to passing a medical Rico Henry will come in.

God Bless and good luck Kieran Tierney, thank you for your contribution to your club, my club and our club.

    Until we meet again…

    Keep the Faith!

To the tune of “Ob La Dee…” by Ra Beatles…

MBoli, Bolingoli, Mbombo -oh-oh, la la la la life goes on

MBoli, Bolingoli, Mbombo – oh, oh – are you a real left back, son?

Faith and patience bhoys, Boli will be fine. HH

  17. traditionalist88 on

Well there will be one or two on here hit hard with the KT news, thats the problem when you are in denial and refuse to join the dots.

The Arsenal move was on the cards and the player wanted it.

Celtic fans on here were pilloried for saying so but now it is happening at least Celtic should be prepared…

Good luck to the player, he deserves to maximise his earnings in a short career and test himself in a top league.

He’ll be back anyway, just a matter of when IMO.

More worried about Bolingoli defensively, looks more comfortable further up the left hand side.

Tom English said that Lennon denied there was anything in the Rico Henry story.

So, yeah, get your money on it!

  19. I def hope so Lennybhoy…..Cos when I saw the picture on Twitter of Paul the Tim standing next to Jeremy Corbyn……it pure gave me the fear, so it did!

Good result last night, could have been better with a bit more composure and belief, but we are now heavy favourites to progress. We will control the game next week and win by a couple.

  22. When we got a new team together to play in the Arran league an 80yr old white bearded man appeared out of the mist and offered to coach us.

He had played for Hibs and a 1st dv team in the north of England way way back.

He was very fit and knowledgable in an old school way.

We had a couple of young skillful but lightweight players. Easily knocked off the ball.

Always remember him telling them “what are you doing falling down? Your no use on the ground. Stay on your feet” . Lewis Morgan needs a bit of his coaching ……….

  23. BHOYLO83 on 8TH AUGUST 2019 9:13 AM

    I agree….

He is now officially in the official ma hoose Celtic legends.

McGrory, Tully, Stein, McNeil, Johnstone, McGrain, Burns, Mcstay , Larsson ,Brown

An exclusive club but Brown deserves his place.

  24. If KT does move on which seems likely ,I wish him all the best .that’s it from me , once they leave the building it’s end of the matter . I sincerely hope NL gets cash now to bring in some quality . like many others on here I was very disappointed with boli,s performance last night but although we had a good result ,boli wasn’t the only one not to show , we are still lacking in a few areas ,without question the funds are there to strengthen what we have , lets see if

The suits ambition for the club matches the fans , they have no excuses if they don’t.

  25. Ricoh would be a good replacement.I also like the Kilmarnock RB.He always plays well. Some great games against thevHuns.Stevie Clarke had no hesitation in playing him for Scotland. He played very well.Bolibis a work in progress. He is a good footballer, but if played further up the field, could be a menace.Obviously Rapid used him in this role.Take some time for him to adapt.Give the guy some slack.

I cant understand why some think,my hero,Broony had a good game.By anyone elses standards he probably had.Normally he controls the tempo.Last night he was all over the place, not in a bad way.Maybe due to Calmac, and Christie being a bit poor.We will see the real Broony in the return.Hamadi was excellent.

  26. On the subject of Celtic Legends

Will James Forrest be considered more of a Celtic ‘Legend’ than Kieran Tierney should he go?

    Meets more of the criteria…

    B-)

  27. James Gang when an Ajax player leaves the money is invested in the team

They have a policy of bringing through youth and mixing them with a small spattering of quality bought with the earning

We sell and don’t invest and keep the money for AGM balance sheet. We then bring through youths who play along side some cheap projects

Big difference in two business models

Ajax tend to have a former top player as CEO who understands football and puts team 1st

We have Peter Lawwell. Big big difference

  28. I thought Shved would have been used last night ahead of Morgan. More experience, more of a goal threat and more of a presence. Saying that, our insistence in playing with two wingers away from home in Europe is puzzling to say the least. Ntcham would surely have been a better option in midfield than Morgan?

  29. And now onto CQN’s performance . . . .

Anyone else having a problem of pages not loading or loading with only 1-2 comments on it during games? Last night page 3, 4 & 5 had one comment each during the game when I was clicking to go through the pages. This has happened a few times recently. Then, after the game, when I go back to look the pages are all there.

Yep had the same problem for approx 1 week, hoping that it will disappear but no sign if that happening as yet.
