Under the cover of coronavirus, Dave King resigned as chairman of Newco. Four months ago he said the club needed £10m before the end of the season. In his farewell statement, released last night, he noted a hoped-for round of funding “has been put on hold”. With the postponement of fixtures since last month, the funding requirement could now be as much as £20m.
The statement was unnecessarily wordy, had he got to the point, he would have said ‘The proposed funder has bailed out and so have I. You’re on your own.’
Claiming he hoped to extend his tenure as chairman until after the coronavirus crisis, but was unable to as South Africa authorities insisted he self-isolate for 14 days, insults the intelligence of even his advocates. The world is self-isolating at the moment and the rest of us have figured out how to communicate by phone or videoconference.
This football club needs tens of millions to pay the liabilities incurred to get this close to Celtic. Hopes of selling its player assets for inflated figures have disappeared from their fantasies. Ex-pats prepared to sink millions into covering previous losses do not exist.
Without Dave King menacing to get his hands on the club within days of Charles Green buying Oldco’s assets, Newco would now be solvent and competitive. Instead, Green was forced to cut ticket prices and pay Ally McCoist and his squad over the odds in order to keep the fans onside, blowing his business plan apart from the off.
The architect of this clusterstaunch has left the scene, unwilling to be held accountable for what happens next. Dave, you will be welcome to make the Paradise Windfall draw any time the South African authorities permit you to travel – but I realise you are unlikely to visit Glasgow again. When the history of our 20-in-a-row, or whatever the sequence becomes, is written, there will be a chapter dedicated to fools like you who made it possible.

The “Mirror” scene.
Hail hail
Keep The Faith
MELBOURNEMICK
Yes I remember the big Aussie boy well, there will be no Orange bassas on the streets of Melbourne while he’s about ! Say hi to everybody and stay safe HH !!
Let Big Jimmy be folks – he’s trying to watch a film. 😂
Would Rangers not be eligible for Government Loans? The Airlines are taking advantage of the situation and expecting bailouts well in excess of their losses in the Covid19 period.
Sevco have never had loans from Banks but, many english clubs have loan facilities. Rangers now have a large turnover and in theory could support a loan.
BIGBHOY
I think companies like the huns will get hee haw.
The banks won’t give money to hugely loss making business.
There must be a reasonable chance they will get their money back.
No chance with the mankies!

What’s the chance of administration, points deduction thus making us champions and the league being shut down “as is” with the SPFL having dodged the possibility of Rangers complaining that the title award was unjust.
————
Got a bet on with a rangers fan in work £10 a point at the end of the league, as it stands I’m £130 up.
So if they get a points reduction I’ll be quids in. 😂👍
what happened to the 3 bears my mammy said it was a fairy tale hail hail
ST TAMS is your Stevie MARLEY a blonde headed guy who played for HIBS????
Would Park, not be better investing in his other club Hamilton ?
Sevco die, liquidated due to close and Ashley not accepting any CVA – Ashley can set up in Govan a distribution centre 😂
Park buys hamilton, relocates them to Hampdump, renames them
New club debt free ?
There will be lots of opportunities to buy another club in Scotland,
much much cheaper than trying to resurrect Sevco
Even buying Edinburgh Huns and creating a Superhun team 🤔🤔🤔 in Scotland
Lots of options
It is getting the Flies to follow this course of action
BACK TO BASICS

Bad news. Glasgow Times reporting that the huns’ board is claiming that significant investment has already been received and further commitments have been sealed.
james forrest
You weren’t his biggest fan then?
Melbourne Mick,
A wee correction, I met up with you this time last year. 12th April to be exact. 😉

Genuinely sorry to hear of the passing of your respective fathers. May eternal light shine upon them and may they rest peacefully.
🙋♂️ Hi Fellow Celtic Fans! 😊
I hope you and your families are safe and well and have people to look out for you.
As a long-time lurker and observer, and very occasional poster, one of the things that I love about this site is that it’s ‘all are welcome’ family inclusiveness reflects that of our beloved Club and Blessed Founders! 😊
Having said that, (Clique Alert! 😊 ), one of the things I also love about our Club is that it’s foundational values are based on the charitable, Christian and Catholic ethos and vision of our Blessed Founder Brother Walfrid.
As a practicing Catholic, like many on here, one of the frustrations of this lockdown is that I am denied being able to attend Mass in person and so have to watch a link to a Live Webcam Stream of a Mass being said from a Church ⛪ and a time of my choice.
It occurred to me that there would be a wonderful opportunity here for CQN and Celtic-Supporting solidarity to TOGETHER attend, watch and take part in a Webcam Mass. This might not be as awesome as those who were fortunate enough to attend the CQN Mass in Lisbon (I’m jealous!), but it would be an awesome way to pray together for those affected by or fighting the war against this virus, and for our CQN Family.
My first thought was that a Webcam Mass from Saint Mary’s Calton would be the obvious choice, but unfortunately they are not streaming any Masses to my knowledge. (My 2nd and Personal choice would have been St. Mungo’s Townhead, but they aren’t streaming Mass either.)
My suggestion is that I personally shall watch/attend the Live Webcam Stream of Mass from St Andrew’s Cathedral, Glasgow, tomorrow Sunday 29th March at 17:15 Celtic Park Time, and that as a fellow CQN’er I invite you to join with me and pray together …
Here is a link to the Live Webcam of the Mass.

Don’t cha know they are a peepil. They are no Hamilton.
Philbhoy
As a £50m plus turnover club they could service a large loan with interest rates at all time low. IF they were run properly.
Today’s coronaviris diversion if you choose to partake.
Option 1
Name your world football 🥅 eleven using only one player from each country. So if you choose Zoff as your keeper then you cannot pick any other Italians.
Option 2
Same as above but you can only pick players you have actually seen live in the flesh.
Option 3
The Jobo option
Same as option 2 but you have to say where & when you saw them.
So King David has done walking away.
Back to Egoli and his empty wine cellar.
Back behind the curtain of the barbed wire fences.
He may be gone but his legacy looms like a dark shadow of doom across Govan.
If his acolytes were ever able to develop the nous to understand the devastation he has left behind, they would be hurriedly hand sanitizing their pitchforks and torches.
And it’s great to have a front row seat while we rubberneck their car crash.
