Co-op awards Celtic the League Cup Final

940

Really pleased the Scottish Professional Football League have awarded the League Cup Final to Scotland’s largest football stadium, Celtic Park.  We are now hosting the League and Scottish Cup finals, as well as the head of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.

So with the Commonwealth and Scottish Cup gigs going to Celtic, why didn’t Newco Rangers get the other final at their 50,000 capacity facility?

Back in the days such certification existed, Ibrox was a Uefa five star venue, whereas Celtic Park was four star, but maintaining those standards takes, well, maintenance, which has not been a priority in some parts.  Celtic Park remains highly functional, and safe.

There is also the hazard of planning an event, even six weeks out, at a venue owned (cough) by a company which does not have bank credit facilities and who are broadcasting financial distress signals like some kind of insolvency Batman call.

These perfectly valid reasons are, of course, a mere distraction from the real reason, the Co-op Bank, which controls Glasgow City Council, is also able to manipulate league football in Scotland and decided to award the final to their partner organisation, while cutting their borrowing rate, by way of compensation.

Issue 19 of CQN Magazine is fresh off the press, 104 pages of great stuff from the CQN community.  10 men won the league, Dam Justice, the Celtic Foundation, and Brogan Rogan outs the difficult questions to Pat Nevin about his Cup Final comments.

Yes I saw your post. I may be wrong about the religious trends but there has been a big evangelical push in South America.

I remember Edward Ursus pointed us in the direction of a Rangers blog (Fat Eck’s??) which had an article about the then-not-deid club’s emphasis on defnce which asserted that the Prods did not like to be penetrated while the Tims took a more cavalier approach to defensive seiveness.

If his thesis had any validity then we should be losing our next goal down our RC or heathen or agnostic RB position. I think its time for Fraser and the RBs to get Born Again.

Play the steaks in defence and the fishes in attack. Other religions and satanists can play midfield.

  8. And a second football insertion from the nightshirt.

And now for a special treat for the overnight moon howlers.

Goals from the U20s 4-0 victory over our derby rivals Partick Thistle.

The size of the Fridge. He’s humungous.

The goals of JOHN HERRON :-) and an assist.

It’s only a couple of minutes but there are some good prospects in this crop.

What I want to know is: Can any of our evangelical brethern in defence double as a 30 goal a season striker with ability to stick the ball in the net in the CL on a regular basis? If so let’s stick the bugger up front wi’ Big Amido.

Scanned parts of Nevin’s interview – seemed nervous and uncomfortable re: the sectarian singing comments and, at least in part, seems to have been ‘dropped right in it’ by a hun at the BBC.

The Celtic team in general look a lot bigger and stronger against the Thistle boys. Funny watching the Celtic centre back running out of defence with the ball and the wee Thistle No. 14 struggling to keep up with him

I hear the zombies are raging at cfc getting the league cup final gig.. even though they didn’t want it themselves. I see they took the 2 Scottish cup semi finals. . Even though they are anti sfa ( anti everyone actually)

The coop involvement will only ruffle raise their zombie blood levels even higher.

I almost feel sorry for the soulless swines .. almost ;)

As im away on holiday and cant get a hold of the new cqn mag with rat nevins interview. . Could anyone who might keep it for me use it as loo paper instead
