St Mirren have won eight points from their four post-split games, second only to Celtic in that respect. Fifth place and a European spot looked out of reach just a month ago, but as Saints bagged those points, Dundee United have lost all games. The Tannadice club cling onto the European spot by a single point.
This means we can expect Stephen Robinson’s side to be in combative form at Celtic Park tomorrow. With the league title already secured, Brendan Rodgers will be mindful of next week’s Scottish Cup Final, with all its historic consequences. His trepidation will be heightened by the injury to Reo Hatate during Wednesday’s combative game.
That should mean we see a similar line-up to Wednesday. James Forrest, Yang and Johnny Kenny leading the line, with Maik Nawrocki and Auston Trusty flanked by Anthony Ralston and Jeffrey Schlupp at the back.
Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo would both benefit from more game time to see if they can build on the good work at Pittodrie, while Callum McGregor is certain to start what is a celebratory day. Viljami Sinisalo has impressed over the last two months, but if Brendan intends to play Kasper Schmeichel in the Cup Final, he should play tomorrow. Cobwebs were evident against Hibs last week, another outing would help the keeper.
Enjoy the sunshine on Trophy Day.

I still can’t join in the Celtic fans love in with Ange…yes, he done a great job with us and gave us some great players….but his badge thumping when walking to the fans at the end of games always rang hollow with me….no one…and I mean NO ONE, no McAteer how much they enjoy their job can say they totally love that organization. Hedge thumping to me means you love the place so much you’ll give it more than 2 years…he lifted his skirt at the first sign of interest from any EPL club and my thoughts that his badge thumping were vindicated….Worse still…I’m led to believe Desmond and the board worked hard over the last few months to try and convince him to extend his contract…and he was happy to keep them waiting til after the cup final to give them their answer….While Desmond and the board were trying to convince him, especially over the last few weeks of the season, he’d already made up his mind he was going to Spuds…to hell with his current employers and to hell with the fans. Then, as if to rub salt into the incoming wounds, he celebrated on the pitch at Hampden after we’d won, along with his agent, who’d obviously worked his ticket to Spuds….surely plucking ANY Celtic fan out of the terraces to celebrate with the team was more deserving than his poxy agent.
Ange?…..nah…hope he gets bumped…..as they say…the grass ain’t always greener…
McAteer = matter
Hedge…badge….
f that 31003 mcateer does matter
yeah, well said and how has that worked out for ange

Hee hee….i get ya….
weird – ange has invented a new managerial model for us – cupla years at celtic and move to the big bucks which weirdly, considering BR pissed off then came back makes him a hero

Read recently that Brendan was being linked with the possible Man Yoo vacancy….if he went I’d be upset….but after his and Anges last departures, I’ve learned, no matter what…Celtic will continue to be long after I’ve left this world….
Would I want Ange back?…..never…
I forgave Brendan but once is enough…
31003 – interesting but I don’t agree.
I’ll always have a bit of a soft spot for Ange.
A proper leader who picked us up when we were on our knees.
Club was broken after that horrendous year.
We got lucky.
His skill set was exactly what we needed.
I was dismayed when he left but money talks and it was likely his one and only shot at the very big time.
IMHO, Brendan is a superior coach.
Ange picked us up.
Ange delivered a double and a treble.
Ange left.
Brendan has raised the standard further.
Living example of continuous improvement.
Enough credit to go round.

I respect your opinion…and probably 75% of Celtic fans would agree with you…but Ange taking his agent on the pitch while Desmond and co were trying to convince him to stay was the straw that broke the camels back for me…even Brendan didn’t have that brass neck….

Message should have went out 2-3 years ago…”you want to play in the top league?…make sure your pitch is grass…joke of an organization..
dire pitch 31003
Am I not right in thinking that Celtic asked the Council to have a fan zone and were refused permission? The Council are claiming that they haven’t been approached for a suitable venue and now their decision to allow the orange walk to take place is being criticised by the rank and file police. I begin to wonder whether the Council are hoping for trouble, which might then result in banning all such celebrations, hoping to harvest votes from those who would never usually vote for the SNP because they are out and out unionists.
Spurs are a poor team ,Ange will get the bullet after win lose or draw in the Europa cup final.
I see Spuds have slowly but surely done away with the 100% press…
Fernandes apart…I can’t see one Man Yoo player who’d get into Celtics first eleven…
If Engels steps up a gear next year…and I’m sure he will…Fernandes won’t make our first eleven either…
I might have dyslexic fingers but always require a few attempts to log in here. Anyone else have similar issues?
Very sorry to see Reo will miss the cup final. We might have seen the boy playing his last game for us. So much wrong with Scottish football that could be easily fixed. The old fashioned run through a brick wall typical Scottish play ain’t doing anyone any favours. Apart from those wanting free licence to have a kick at some of our flair players. So behind up here when we’re crying out for some initiative. Please Celtic, gtf out of Scottish football. If we’re being set up, then let’s get clever, somehow, and turn the table on the halfwits.
Btw, what a load of shite being talked about the guise of VE celebrations tomorrow. FFS, it’s like the BBC introducing poppy day a week earlier every year. Every single person in Europe was great affected by the wars and no-one has a monopoly over them (I can grieve/respect better than you,FFS).

I think we all KNOW the reasons behind this farce….the difference is we celebrate with joy and happiness…as opposed to violence, bigotry and triumphalism…and they can’t handle that….collateral damage to innocents and their own is worth it if it can disrupt and violate our good feelings…
Might permit myself a wee half pint shandy after the game tomorrow despite the hand wringing from GCC et al.
Glasgow set fair tomorrah, with temps hitting over 75o Fahrenheit, hot enough hopefully for those clad primarily in a combination of bri-nylon, crimplene and polyester, (not to mention spandex of course a whole other scenario) to experience extreme discomfort, if not spontaeous combustion. Long way away from 451o F of course, the temperature at which those self-same bookburners would achieve, in their eyes, a modicum of salvation. And lets hope we can add to that discomfort, by turning up the heat against the Saints, with a red hot performance in Paradise, to the extent that those mad dogs marching in the mid-day sun, Sinners one and all, would rather find themselves in hell than in the Merchant City, of Glasgow,…that dear Green Place…..

Very classy of Kasper to namecheck and underscore Scott Bain’s contribution.
Joe Hart did the same thing too.
As both noted, you don’t get signed at Celtic by being a bad goalie/player.
Always thought Bainy was unfairly maligned by many fans – but he’s obviously a real good pro.
PS: this report reckons Tilio was ‘irresistible’ last night: Well, not from my seat in the stands he wasn’t.

Tillio could be our Jota answer for the first part of the season anyway, which means resources could be spent elsewhere, por cierto.
Honestly PorCierto, I watched him live and don’t see the guile or robustness that would thrive in the SPFL.
Happy to be proved wrong if it comes to be.

Full stadium tifo today arranged by the club but the ultras group aren’t happy and advising fans to through it at the board.
Up early. Struggling to sleep.
16 league titles in my first 40 years was a stunning return vs 4 in the 40 years prior.
19 league titles in the subsequent 25 years is ‘off the scale’ level.
Huge credit to all involved this past 25 years. Great Celtic times indeed.
Looking forward to celebrating at CP today while at respectfully thinking of others less fortunate such as those in Palestine and Ukraine.
Hopefully those in these troubled places can find some hope and some way forward.
As for those parading around the streets of Glasgow triumphantly commemorating ….. I wonder if the world order we have was really what our grandparents fought for ?
David 66
I would take 6-1 for sure. Enjoy your day.
Maestro
Sad to hear.
Clubs lost trust in the groups not doing the right thing it would appear celebrate our success and be proud I’ll shed a tear like normal thinking of my Grandfather and Father when we lift the trophy at Paradise it’s a wonderful feeling and get to enjoy with fam friends may God bless those who introduced us to Celtic.
