Come to Celtic, we’ll make you a superstar

412

Moussa Dembele made the most of his debut opportunity for France under-21s yesterday. Arriving as a second half substitute, he soon won a penalty for France’s third and scored their fourth goal. The world has changed for Moussa since coming into the Celtic team for the injured Leigh Grifiths and scoring a hat-trick against Newco less than a month ago.

This is great news for the player but at a time when Celtic are pitching the opportunity to other young players to come to Celtic Park instead of sitting in the development teams of an English club, it’s just as good news for the player.

Moussa isn’t any better than he was at Fulham last year. Had he stayed, or moved to an English Premier League club, none of this would have happened. The move to Celtic has been career-changing within two months of the new season starting.

Telling Moussa’s story, and that of Fraser, Virgil and Victor, will be done again and again whenever Celtic track a player. “Come to Celtic, we’ll make you a superstar” is the mantra.

I see a bit of chat on the review of how away tickets are distributed.  Celtic have asked for input from lots of fans on this in recent weeks.  There are a few areas that aren’t working as well as they could at the moment, so the consultation is a good step.

Also plenty of Clips of Mussa’s goal on newsnow

  2. Why don’t the polis just show an aerial shot of Celtic Park with the away section pixelated and say they’d like to arrest all those pictured? It’s what they really want, them and their masters.

From the wanted pictures posted by the polis it seems that vandalism and sectarian singing are no longer offences.

I’ve said it before,if that’s what they’ve got go worry about the country must be virtually crime free. It’s a scandal.

God help yi if you’re a Celtic fan under 18 with a bottle of cider.

Reminds me of a joke about the penal system during South Africa’s apartheid.Study being done and the author gets access to a jail and interviews 3 prisoners.1st prisoner’s white and says he’s in for raping a coloured woman, for which he got 6 months.Asked if the judge sayed anything to him whilst sentencing he replies that he advised the offender to mind his company in future.

2nd prisoner’s also white and is halfway through a 1 year sentence for murdering 2 black men.Asked about the judge’s remarks he said he was warned to be careful in his future actions.

    3rd prisoner is a black man who’s serving life for riding his bike without a light.Asked if the judge made comment on sentencing he says;

“He said if it wasn’t daytime he’d have hung me.”

  7. My friends in Celtic,

I abhor lifetime bans as a football punishment. How can a teenager who does something daft, be the same person 40 years later. Even people who commit the most heinous crimes get parole and subsequent freedom. A whole life term is extremely unusual.

If society can deem these people ready to re-enter life and even , shock horror go to the football then any talk of life bans for a few dolls ( If that is the case ) is knee jerk, appeasement, vindictive and plain stupid.

Re the shareholders’ mandate to Celtic Trust resolution I, too, got the blank page but then saw it has actually gone into “downloads” but couldn’t get the online signature thingy to work. (not so much Curriculum for Excellence as Curriculum for Technologically Incompetent). However, have printed the form and mailed it first class with one of those nice Nativity stamps from last Christmas. Hope it’s all in order. Good luck to you and the Minx for everything that you are doing, HH

  11. Whit a day!

Mrs VFR wisnae feeling too well this morning and said she would work from home, so I left her to it.

Went to the funeral which, strangely, was a very uplifting experience. After the PP’s “appeal” at last Sunday’s Mass I reckon over 50 extra people turned up, over and above the usual daily Mass goers.

There were 3 friends of the lady in attendance.

The Priest commented on the fact that it was a good gig for him because, unlike the usual funerals, everyone was responding to the prayers and singing. A few of us went to the graveside as well so there were some people to respond to the prayers.

Got back, Mrs VFR oot the gemme and couldnae even stand (no drink taken). Called the quack who duly attended; she has a viral infection in her inner ear (Mrs VFR, no’ the quack) which has symptomised itself in blinding headaches and acute vertigo.

So she’s laid up and I’m running up and doon the stairs like Wee Willy Winkie (nae smutty jokes at the back, please BMCUWP).

Just sat down for a read-back and see it’s like Primary 5 on a wet Wednesday playtime where we’re aw kept in and arguing like weans!

Just signed and mandate is in the post.

Good to see the SLO listening to some advice I gave the SLO about changing the confrontational and divisive mechanism that resolutions to the AGM have become and the CST being part of that change.

Older CQN hands might remember my pursuit of a Membership Scheme, the underlying purpose of which was to improve communications with Celtic.

This went on hold when the SLO was appointed which of itself opened a new communication channel.

The Supporters Forum was the first attempt at a communication channel using the SLO.

It wasn’t perfect but if it is viewed as a prototype, it did provide a platform to move on from, but it did more than that. It also offered the experience of being part of an improvement process by (God laughs) communicating with each other, and you cannot whack experience to learn from.

I hope the new process is as successful as the good intent behind it.

  26. Police Scotland are now virtually unaccountable to any authority in Scotland bar themselves.

The current group of photographs simply shows that they will do everything in their power to even things up regarding arrests between us and the zombies. They know they could arrest hundreds if not thousands of zombies for breaking the law regarding sectarian singing and vandalism. So to even things up they are going to arrest as many CFC fans as they can over the hanging squirrels and the banner referring to Hun scum, no matter that the word Hun has been deemed inoffensive to anyone bar a zombie!
