COMMENT: KEEP THE DAY JOB, VACLAV

IT’S just as well Vaclav Cerny appears to possess a modicum of footballing talent.

The utterly irresponsible on-loan Ibrox player would never have made much of a living as a defence attorney.
Unfortunate clients would have felt the noose tightening and the trapdoor being dusted down as soon as the Czech opened his mouth to deliver his considered summation to plead their innocence at the end of a trial.
Cerny, of course, is in the dock this morning for his brainless actions at Parkhead on Sunday when he thought it would be a spiffing wheeze to spray water on Celtic fans as he raced along the touchline celebrating the visitors’ third goal in the 88th minute.
HEADING FOR TROUBLE…Vaclav Cerny.
Sky Sports cameras captured the controversial incident as they zoomed in on Barry Ferguson to film the caretaker manager’s reaction to what turned out to be the winning strike from Hamza Igamane.
In a powderkeg situation, with Rangers taking the lead and the clock ticking down, such an imbecilic and provocative act could have sparked scenes we have no desire to witness at the home of the champions.
Thankfully, law officers and security staff stepped in to swiftly defuse a potentially ugly situation. Police Scotland have confirmed they are looking into the incident and the SFA, too, will launch their own investigation.
After 48 hours to come up with a reasonable argument to somehow explain his moronic behaviour, Cerny, speaking to the media in Prague, offered us this contemplated clarification: “I don’t want to say too much, I can’t.
“I find it a bit absurd. The stands are so close, to have open water… I didn’t even know what was happening at that moment.
“I just ran. It’s a derby.”
Oh well, that makes everything crystal clear, doesn’t it?
When the SFA and Police Scotland getting around to announcing the outcome of their deliberations, there can be only one verdict.
Guilty, m’lud.
