Neil Lennon’s comments that he will need to sell at Bolton Wanderers before making a bid for Kris Commons, or anyone else, are welcome. Celtic have four important games in the four weeks after this transfer window closes: home and away to Inter Milan, Aberdeen in the league, and a League Cup semi-final against newco Rangers. Commons will be vital for some, if not all of these games.
Inter will play on the front foot and Aberdeen have the players to take the game to us, as they did in the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park last season, but I expect newco to defend their 18 yard line in numbers, a bit like Ross County did last week, a scenario which will require someone with Commons’ craft.
Neil Warnock’s sacking at Crystal Palace was good news, as he wanted Commons, had money to spend and could offer the allure of top-flight football. Neil Lennon would be able to offer Commons familiarity, but with Bolton spending a total of £300k in the summer, their chances of being able to afford a bid for Commons that would raise Celtic’s interest are limited.

Pauloantony13.52 ……….that was one one of the best posts I have read on here for a while HAIL HAIL
Good afternoon all
I made quite a long posting this morning about what I perceive to be the state of Celtic that made comments about the Neil Doncaster statement, the quality of our current squad and the manager and also made a prediction about the likely outcome of this season’s league race.
I had thought that this blog was a place for Celtic fans to give their honest opinions on the club we all care about so much. If you agree with what I say on any of the points covered then fine and if you disagree then that is similarly fine- tell me where I am going wrong. There a couple of those who agreed with one of the points who I have disagreed with here in the past. Some disagreed with what I said. One in particular.
Turkeybhoy you have made no real attempt to contradict anything I said about the team and manager but have instead chosen to reiterate amongst other things your ‘unconditional love’ for Celtic. All who contribute to this blog love Celtic unconditionally but unconditional love whether it be for our club or our family does not mean that we do not have to like or approve of everything they do. Unconditional love is not the same as Blind Faith. Those who have a Blind Faith in all things Celtic have their forum. It is the Celtic View’s Letters Page of 25 years ago.
You have also referred to those who do not share your rosy world view as being ‘drama queens’ and suggested that I should take up drinking again. I shall refrain from insulting you but will observe only that you are what the rest of us only have but rarely likely to talk about..
Have a nice day.

On the ‘same club’ stuff, all we can do is keep Asking @celticfc to clarify their stance.
