Neil Lennon’s comments that he will need to sell at Bolton Wanderers before making a bid for Kris Commons, or anyone else, are welcome. Celtic have four important games in the four weeks after this transfer window closes: home and away to Inter Milan, Aberdeen in the league, and a League Cup semi-final against newco Rangers. Commons will be vital for some, if not all of these games.
Inter will play on the front foot and Aberdeen have the players to take the game to us, as they did in the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park last season, but I expect newco to defend their 18 yard line in numbers, a bit like Ross County did last week, a scenario which will require someone with Commons’ craft.
Neil Warnock’s sacking at Crystal Palace was good news, as he wanted Commons, had money to spend and could offer the allure of top-flight football. Neil Lennon would be able to offer Commons familiarity, but with Bolton spending a total of £300k in the summer, their chances of being able to afford a bid for Commons that would raise Celtic’s interest are limited.

BCW touche – can’t do the wee accent thingy H HHebcelt
Zbyszek
I understand where he has come from but with his pace he could easily be an out and out left winger with us.
My opinion of course but not enough willing to try and go past people in this team of ours right now.

Absolutely, and some of our own want their tribute act to survive….
You know, I once idolised my heroes, the pleasure of seeing my idols, one to one,was just one of those WOW moments.
Strangely, they were every bit as happy to meet us. We had a great chance to connect, and we did.
Strange that fellas who made a mint from us put the boot in,yet the REAL GOOD BHOYS,who earned sod all for their brilliance, stay schtuum.
Lot of time for Hartson and Sutton-I even miss that longtime legendary poster,CSIAL-but as far as I’m concerned, they are battering their head off the Andy Walker road to perdition.
I don’t know how much these guys get from Sky,et all.
But I guarantee it is less than a true Tim will get for a night out wi the lads, and he will still be a happy and proud hunskelper.
Sutton. Hartson. We thought they knew. They didnae really, they just knew enough to rip us off.
Twas ever thus.

have you got my phone number?

Mibbe his current MD,CEO,whatever didnae sell his best players and replace them with crap.
I wish Neil well. And I wish he was still being paid by us.
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS :
Well as far as I’m aware if Celtic had not given the P45 to Neil’s assistant then Neil would still be our manager.
I’m happy to be corrected on that awareness.
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS
Ditto, we should never allowed him to leave
KITALBA
I believe that to be true. Neil refused to turn his back on his friend, and defensive coach.
Certainly matches what I was told. Question is-why?
Ooops,displaying a tad of naivety there,sorry.
Zbyszek – Where did your info come from re Wakaso being a Defensive Mid?
Not disputing it but when I tried to find out more, all the reports I find going back to 2012, when he played in Spain refer to him as a winger? Even for the national team.
Mr. Z
How are Thee?
Merry Christmas n a Prosperous n Happy Noo Year,pal.. n.. tae yer Nearest n Dearest.
Speaking of Wakaso..
Ma opinion..of the Guy..is not a Good Wan.
He is far too Impetuous.. He Looks tae Me. like a Guy who could Be a Good Player,
but, He is in Too Much of a Hurry tae ..well.. Become One.
He appears tae me tae be a Bundle of Nervous Energy.. which He cannot Control.
Na.. Ah wid Ship him Oot.. Back from whence he came..

Nice chatting,pally. as usual.

Lots of rumours regarding why Neil Lennon left. Only thing I have seen him saying was he had enough of the crap he had to put up with off the field.
Always thought Wakaso was a winger – that was what the reports said when he signed. Known for his pace. Seems quick but reluctant to take a man on and utilise it. Kind of disappeared recently.
Well Tranmere out of the FA Cup Max Power scored in the 2nd half but other than that it wasnt a good afternoon. I thinkTranmere will listen to offers for Power we could do worse I think he would be a good signing. H.H.
so 30,000 at the future Tesco’s today…….the furry 3 and the Glib one must be happy.
Does anybody have any good transfer rumours of players coming in rather than players leaving?
We are 3 days in and nothings happening :-)

Officially today is the first day.

Surprised at that, looked more like 20000.

You know how they count the fgures (including season books)
I’ve never called for Peter Lawwell to be sacked. I’ve never, ever advocated any Celtic employee be sacked, and that includes our present manager, regardless of how some demand you spell his name, yet don’t impose the same pit-bull determinations when others are named without accuracy.
I don’t demand – ever – anybody be sacked – unlike a few towel throwers of old who were ultimately bereft of an epiphany.
Anyway, post the five-way-agreement and the acceptance that the Scottish game is hobbling along a white sock short of an orange walk and corrupt to the core, what, if you haven’t already appreciated the meaning of integrity, would Celtic have to do to bring you back to the fold?
It was on the BBC website – so it must be true (no laughing at the back please)

Ok thought it was the 1st.
Does it shut After the league cup semi or before?

18,000 according to Archie McPherson
From the BBC web site:
The January transfer window opens in England, Scotland and Wales at Saturday, 3 January and will close again on transfer deadline day on Monday, 2 February at 23:00 GMT.

Got word from an impeccable source that we are interested in signing Dundee United’s Chris Erskine.
Remember where you heard it first.

You kidding ?
Well it was mentioned this morning that John Guidetti did not want to sign for Celtic permanently even that he could leave Celtic during the January window. Well Rony has hit that rumour on the head saying that talks were still going well in an attempt to sign the player. H.H.
18,000 not bad for a new club finding its way….
Is, as previously reported on here, Martin Odegaard is a done deal?

He should have resigned along with Strachan after the seven point lead debacle.
I would have sacked him there and then to be perfectly honest.
And listen – I don’t mind PL at all – he’s a good Celtic man, and he has done a lot of good for the club.
In terms of the football side of things, he can either be naive, or incompetent.

He scored the 3rd goal on Thursday. I have a good mate who is a huge United fan and he rates him highly. They are spending around £750k per year on their youth academy and are reaping the benefits. We spend around a million and are not seeing the same progress.

No, I have not.

No mate.
He’s a good footballer, would be a bit of a “leftfield” signing, but all of their other players that we have been linked with are vastly overrated.
