COMMONS: SOME LIKE IT HOT!

KRIS COMMONS wants to turn up the heat on Celtic’s rivals in the run-in to the season.
And the midfielder is warming to the prospect of a treble success as he rests during the international break.
Commons, 31, who quit Scotland to concentrate on the Hoops two years ago after 12 appearances for his adopted country, admitted: “The break has come at a weird time.
“I was injured two weeks ago and I would like a run in the team to try to get another couple of goals.
“But for a guy who’s not a spring chicken any more, it’s always nice to try and get a bit of sun, especially living in Glasgow.
“I’m missing out on the Vitamin D, so I need to go and get some sunshine and recharge – I could do with getting in a rocket and flying to the sun just to get some rays.

“But it’s just a great opportunity for me to spend time with my family and friends and do things I’m not normally able to do.

“I can come back into the team feeling fresh after that boost you get with a bit of sunshine – feeling recharged and ready to kick on again.

“We have some huge games coming up with the Scottish Cup semi-final against Inverness Caley Thistle to look forward to and we want to try to win this league sooner rather than later.

“Undoubtedly, these are exciting times for us at the minute.”
Commons added: “It’s always difficult with internationals as you are hoping and wishing that everyone does well and gets the results that they want.
“You want them to come back fresh and injury-free.

“If you start picking up injuries on international duty that’s the most frustrating thing for a club manager, but the boys have a commitment do well for their country and do well at a top level.

“Hopefully, they come back feeling fresh and feeling good, having put in some good performances that will keep them going.”
