Commons touch and experience needed

1348

I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.

Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.

One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

Absolute classic – love As The Crow Flies and everything from ’74 Tour

One of my biggest regrets missing him at the Apollo – still have the ticket…he didn’t trap!!

Still love the guy – genius

  7. Ronny has been too rigid with his system and this ha resulted in players being played in positions that doesn’t suit their abilities.

Result poor displays, loss of confidence and a downward spiral. The vast majority of our team have gone backwards under Ronny’s rule. KT being the outstanding exception, however KT got his chance due to injuries, if Izzy was available KT would have been back on the bench after a couple of games.

The constant tinkering with midfield is totally frustrating to us as supporters what must it be like for the players,

Brown, Biton & Joe Hanson were top players last year, this year they are pale shadows of themselves. Armstrong & GMS started brightly once they arrived but the light has gone out, particularly on Armstrong.

I’m now worried that he is about to feck up Allan. If he is given time Roberts & Christie will be next.

Unless terrible things happen in next couple of games (which I certainly hope does not happen), he will be allowed to see season out.

As supporters our team needs us and I think a huge emotional backing in our next League game could be the catalyst to lift the team and drive us forward to win the 5 in a row.

However regardless of whether we win the League or even the double, Ronny has had more than enough chances. I suspect that moves are already afoot to replace him, at one level I feel sorry for a decent man but as someone who’s over abiding interest is the welfare of Celtic, I can’t wait to see the back of him.

So someone posts their opinion on KT people respond to that post and they’re all sheep according to you ?

Someone posted Ronny is going to lose his job most people agree. Are they all sheep

No, of course not – just a wee jibe – not meant to offend you or anyone!!!

  12. Maybe there should be a pop up or tick box when logging into CQN that no timorous beasties allowed.

Posters are required to have skin like a Rinoceroooooos, Rinocouroooos or better still a Rhino.

That Leaning Tower of Pisa advert on CQN is rather strange.

Considering ive got the ownership documents right in front of me.

Its my Tower….and i want paid:)

And dont even attempt to ask if the documentation is legitimate.

When did you last visit people in prison, visited thousands of people who are sick, have toilets and showers built on your doorstep to give the poor that live on the streets a place to be refreshed bodily and in spirit?

Or is it Pope Francis’ reaching out to other faiths and the Orthodox churches to bring about peace and harmony in this world? And I could go on with many other things he has done to bring a true face of the Lord to others.

I mean, just the other day i was watching that boxset ‘The Bible’

One minute Moses is parting the Red Sea, next minute he is in a desert,…for 40 years.

Second series is worse…Jesus walking on water, raising the dead, and casting devils out, and that was all in one afternoon.

I remember thinking…wow, that guy must be knackered:)

Hope it gets better,,,although i must admit, i preferred Breaking Bad.

The leaning Tower of Pisa is of course an open air Casino in the South Side of Glasgow, the tables are rigged so as the ones on the lower tables get their balls placed strategically so as to enjoy a better run of luck.

Donald Trump had a rescue offer of $300 Billion knocked back by the Blue Knights of Ibrox because it had from the Republicans on the cheque. It’s all very confusing you know.

  17. Haven’t read anywhere near all the comments since I was last on but I’m in complete agreement with you Paul.

At the moment we need experienced heads in that team, Commons remains one of our best.

Christie et al have done nothing in Celtic jerseys as yet. Yea, I know they’ve not been played but this is Celtic we’re talking about guys. There’s been better players than Scott Allen and Ryan Christie who’ve come to Celtic and not made it. Commons has shown how big an influence he can be on the park, play him on Sunday.

Ps Commons was wrong to lambast the bench, however, if the majority of this team had shown the footballing ability and the will to win that he did that night, we wouldn’t be in this situation.

Can you tell the Nationalist Socialists trolls like Benjwhatever to take their nonsense elsewhere?

The football is bad enough just now without the introduction of political point scoring!

That sounds dreadful. How exactly did that come about ? I would hate to make the same mistake myself :-)

  20. AidenBhoy – I find this blog a bit like Animal Farm – on here we have as you know, sheep, we also have ostriches, raging-bulls, rabid-dogs, horses(mostly rear-ends), wild bores(sic), ravens (story spreaders),stubborn goats(old & young), and knowledgeable pigs with a multitude of views….and I have to bake for all of them!!!!

It is quite sad when good people blame Ronny Deila for any downturn in a player`s form even when the player himself accepts responsibility. I cannot remember a Double winning Celtic manager receiving so much criticism — from the MSSM initially then droves of Celtic fans afterwards.

There have been some poor parts and some good parts in most games this season. Wednesday was an exception in being poor for almost the whole game. The sum total does not justify the astonishing criticism Ronny is subject to.

I would dearly love it if more of us tried what the old Celtic End tried on Wednesday after about 80 minutes or so. They tried to raise our team and , although unsuccessful, those few minutes gave me hope that the kind of support that has made Celtic special is still there and can be released in a united front to get behind our team and against all those who would love to see us fail.
