The momentum for a confederated regional league in Eastern Europe continues to gather pace with clubs from Belarus keen to join. With a population of around 10m, Belarus is sandwiched between Russia, Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states, but their league has been rendered uncompetitive by the domination of Bate Borisov, who are on their way to eight-in-a-row titles.
Bate, who are now Champions League regulars, have no opportunity to progress while the rest of the league do not have the resources to compete with them. A regional league would solve all their problems.
Russian and Ukrainian clubs are aiming to have a confederated league in place by the start of 2014, with sponsors thought to be keen to step forward and underwrite whatever is necessary to smooth the way, but the Ukrainian FA suggest 2016 is a more viable date.
Scottish football stands to gain more from regionalisation than anywhere else on the planet. We need to have this debate before blindly stumbling into another Management of Decline while legislators in Minsk leave us behind!

All very quiet on the SEVCO shares, their blogs not even discussing it. I reckon Charlie & Jabba are trying to figure out how to present the results as a New World Record. I have already stated this but I reiterate I am totally sceptical about The Institunional pledges. Just can’t see how any hard-nosed business man could see investing in Sevco as a money making venture. I can understand how Green & Co. moved in for 5.5 million with a view to making a quick buck and I can understand how fans would stump up a few million, I can even understand how a bloke like Ashley could get involved but Institutions investing Clients money -no way.

I just head on RS that the kilwinning assassins have launched their appeal. Going by what how it was reported on the radio their grounds for appeal is based on their utter stupidity. Cathedral View, what was said on RS was that their appeal is based on the fact the devices couldn’t have gone off. I remember from the trial that experts said they contained explosives and were viable devices but it seems the two idiots just didn’t have the brains between them to be able to make them detonate. Their defence is based on the fact that their lack of education is the only thing that prevented the devices exploding and killing people. Thankfully they were built by fools and didn’t go off.
Its just a pity they didn’t go off while they were down in their tool shed with their chemistry set plotting their deed. They could have done us all a favor and received a Darwin award nomination too.

Why dont we get an Atlantic/Pacific league involving every team that ever came into being. Play each other once, home and away. Its index linked, takes eight years and every time Celtic appear on TV, ye get a card reader to put your bank card in and give all your money to the Germans.
Over the past few years it has certainly become easier to find an acceptable cup of ground coffee, albeit in some tax dodging chain outlet and served in industrial sized boiling hot paper beakers (what ever happened to a cup?).
Anyway, with this has come the demise of the decent cup of tea. I’m not talking anything fancy here, no Darjeeling, Ceylon or Earl Grey, just bog-standard PG tips, Red Label, or Co-op 99 ( loose leaf for choice ) made with boiling water, left to mask in a teapot (like Mammy and Daddy did) for around four minutes and served in a proper mug or cup with Coo’s milk………..poured in first.
This has now degenerated into a pathetic teabag of dubious provenance, dunked into the paper beaker and topped up hot water and the contents of a mini carton of sterilised milk, that has a sell by date of 2018.
If you are particularly unfortunate ( as I was at Central station last week ) the operative *or are they now called “baristas?” * dunked the tea bag into the water, gave it a squash and then disposed of it before I had time to object.
When I asked for it back in order to give the watery beverage a semblance of substance I was told “ees not possible, ees no hygienic, ees ‘elf an safety”
Don’t get me started on Cake.
