CONFIDENT DUFFY

IRISH striker Michael Duffy hopes he has done enough to win a deal at Celtic.

The 20-year-old Derry City frontman netted twice for the Under-20s in a 3-1 win in a bounce match with Newcastle during the week.

Duffy was delighted with the goals – especially as they came against Holland international keeper Tim Krul who was making a return after injury.

It’s the second time the Northern Ireland Under-21 attacker has been on trial with the Hoops in recent weeks.

Now he hopes to get the nod from Ronny Deila for a chance at Parkhead.

He said: “It was good to play against Newcastle and get a tough game under my belt.
“I did well, so I’m happy with it.
“It’s even better to score against a keeper who played in the World Cup.”

The highly-rated youngster added: “I did all I could.
“So, I will just need to wait and see when the manager comes back from the Gran Canaria trip to see what his call is.”
