CONFIRMED: £7m JULLIEN STARTS

CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN, Celtic’s £7million centre-half who sat out the 4-3 Champions League exit against Cluj, has returned for Celtic in their League Cup-tie against Dunfermline at Parkhead this afternoon.

Scott Brown was missing from the 18-man squad as the Hoops begin their defence of the trophy they have won over the past three seasons.

Boli Bolingoli, the left-back who also missed the defeat, is in at left-back with Callum McGregor moving back to his more influential role in the middle of the park.

Craig Gordon is another comeback Bhoy as he takes over from Scott Bain who has a disloacted thumb, but there was a school of thought the 36-year-old shotstopper was in line for a call-up in any case following the loss of six goals to the Romanians and Motherwell in successive outings.

Neil Lennon will also start with an attacking double-act in Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths against the Fifers.

TEAM: Gordon; Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer; Bitton, Bolingoli; Johnston, McGregor, Christie; Griffiths, Edouard. Subs: Hazard, Bayo, Morgan, Hayes, Shved, Ntcham, Forrest.
