CONFIRMED: ARMSTRONG PARTNERS CALMAC

0

FORMER Celtic star Stuart Armstrong has replaced Covid victim Billy Gilmour to partner his one-team Hoops team-mate Callum McGregor at Hampden this evening.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke has called in the Southampton ace for the Euros Finals confrontation against Croatia that could see the nation win through to the knock-out stages of a major tournament for the first time in their history.

Chelsea kid Gilmour was outstanding alongside McGregor and Aston Villa’s John McGinn in the goalless draw against England at Wembley on Friday that threw the Scots a lifeline after their opening-day 2-0 loss to Czech Republic four days earlier.

Any sort of win against the Croatians will get the job done.

TEAM: Marshall; McTominay, Hanley, Tierney; O’Donnell, McGinn, McGregor, Armstrong, Robertson; Adams, Dykes. SUBS: Gordon, McLaughlin, Christie, Turnbull, Forrest, Hendry, Fleck, Gallagher, Cooper, Nisbet, Patterson, Fraser and McKenna.
