CONFIRMED: BARKAS DEBUT

1

GREEK international keeper Vasilis Barkas makes his Celtic debut against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park this afternoon.

The £4.5million shotstopper from AEK Athens watched last week’s 5-1 Premiership opening triumph over Hamilton Accies at Parkhead with Scott Bain in goal.

However, the pair have swapped around for the 4.30pm kick-off against Alex Dyer’s side with Neil Lennon giving the nod to the 10 outfield players who started a week ago.

The champions played only once on the Ayrshire club’s plastic surface last season and Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Christopher Jullien were on target in a 3-1 win. The Hoops won the two league games in Glasgow by the same scoreline.

TEAM: Barkas; Frimpong, Jullien, Ajer, Taylor; Brown, McGregor; Forrest, Christie, Elyounoussi; Edouard. Subs: Bain, Bitton, Klimala, Soro, Ntcham, Bolingoli, Robertson, Elhamed, Dembele.
