CONFIRMED: CALMAC IN, CHRISTIE OUT

0

CALLUM McGREGOR in, Ryan Christie out – that’s the big team news ahead of tonight’s Scotland Euro Finals crunch against England at Wembley.

Steve Clarke has brought in the Celtic anchorman to play from the start after leaving him on the bench until after the hour mark in the 2-0 loss to Czech Republic at Hampden on Monday.

Christie started the encounter, but was hooked at the interval and has to be content with a place on the substitutes’ bench on this occasion.

Kieran Tierney has also returned from injury to take his place alongside skipper Andy Robertson on the left-hand side of the team while Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour makes his competitive debut against Gareth Southgate’s outfit.

James Forrest, who looked lively against the Czechs when he got the nod late in the game, starts again on the bench.

Croatia and the Czechs drew 1-1 at Hampden earlier in the day, so Clarke’s players need to take something from this confrontation or Tuesday’s match against the Croatians will be meaningless.

TEAM: Marshall: O’Donnell, McTominay, Hanley, Tierney, Robertson; Gilmour, McGinn, McGregor; Adams and Dykes. Subs: Gordon, McLaughlin, Christie, Fleck, Cooper, Armstrong, Nisbet, Fraser, Patterson, Hendry, Forrest and McKenna.
