CONFIRMED: CALMAC, KYOGO RETURN

0

CAPTAIN Callum McGregor and top scorer Kyogo Furuhashi return for Celtic in their Europa League Group G encounter with Bayer Leverkusen at Parkhead tonight.

Ange Postecoglou had hinted the duo might get some game time, but has sprung a major surprise by putting both into his starting line-up.

The Greek-Australian gaffer makes three changes from the side that drew 1-1 with Dundee United at the weekend with Adam Montgomery coming in at left-back for the injured Josip Juranovic.

McGregor, playing his first game since limping off in the 3-0 win over Ross County on September 11, will reclaim the captain’s armband from keeper Joe Hart.

Kyogo, who has been out since sustaining a knee injury while playing for Japan in a 1-0 World Cup qualifying victory over China earlier this month, comes back after missing the last five outings.

The fans’ favourite has rattled in seven goals in only eight starts for the Hoops.

James McCarthy and Albian Ajeti drop to the bench with Greek frontman Giorgos Giakoumakis, still waiting to make his debut, among the substitutes.

TEAM: Hart; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Montgomery; Turnbull, McGregor, Rogic; Abada, Kyogo, Jota. Subs: Bain, Barkas, Scales, Bitton, Giakoumakis, Ajeti, Soro, McCarthy, Urhoghide, Shaw, Welsh.
